I made this for some friends of mine, as a friend of ours passed away tragically and unexpectedly. It was desperately sad, and whilst I can't be there to give those friends of mine a hug as they live half way across the world from me, this was my way of reaching out to them and remembering Cyntia, who was dear to them especially, but to many others as well. She is, as stitched, always in our hearts. Cyntia absolutely adored her cocker spaniels, hence the subject of this cross stitch, and for those of you who are not mushers (a type of online game - SO fun!), ICA=ICC stands for In Character Actions = In Character Consequences. Cyntia was very fond of that rule, so it summarises her :) Basically it means that if you do something in character, expect to have to deal with the consequences of your actions in character as well. Something I think that applies to life in a very general sense of things as well.
This is one of many times that I just like a photo for the memory it provides. I am fine that the photo has this-that - or whatever wrong with it. Back roads drive and a rainy day in Georgia....life is good.
Ellijay, GA USA, Hwy 52 East - The oldest, continuously operating store in Gilmer County, GA. Established 1907. I had strawberry ice cream and it was pretty good. I'll stop again, and go down that side road also!

GLASTONBURY, ENGLAND- The Glastonbury Market Cross is an especially important local landmark and has medieval origins. However, this present day structure actually dates from 1846, with the current Market Cross being built to replace the earlier structure, which was destroyed soon after the turn of the 19th century. As part of the town's 300 year anniversary celebrations in 2005, the Market Cross was fully restored and remains in a good state of repair.

Cason did a lunch and learn presentiaton for the Atlantic Chapter of the Canadian Red Cross and their Preventing Violence in the Schools Program. Cason Crane presented on his work for the Trevor Project an organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ young people ages 13-24.

Kildalton Cross is one of the finest early Christian crosses in Scotland, the High Cross of Kildalton, is closely related to three major crosses in Iona, St John’s, St Martin’s and St Oran’s and dates from the second half of the 8th century. The cross stands 2.65 metres in height, with arms 1.32 metres across. It is fortunate the local grey-green epidiorite stone, a single slab of which was used for the Cross, is not only very hard rock, but also seems to be resistant to lichens for, although somewhat weathered, the main features can still be identified. On the east face (towards the sea), at the top are two angels with, below them, David fighting a lion. Further down, two birds feed on a bunch of grapes then on the shaft, a carving of Virgin with Child and angels. The right arm panel depicts Abraham about to sacrifice Isaac, while the left shows Cain murdering Abel. The central boss on the west side is surrounded by seven smaller bosses intertwined with serpents. In the construction of the cross arms are four lions (all with damaged heads) intertwined with more serpents, similar to those on the shaft of St Martin’s cross, Iona

I'm trying to work on my no-light/low-light shots, so I set off to the church my dad preaches at and snapped some shots of the back-lit cross. Had fun trying out different ISO/aperture settings. This was my favorite shot from the set.
