The original photo was of Chicago's Union Station where local commuter trains and Amtrak goes. Photoleap was used to convert it into an intergalactic transit station.

I´ve been fiddling with this so long that I can´t tell if this went in the right direction or if I need to add or substract anything, so instead I´ll just post it again ;)

The Great Northern goat meets the Norfolk Southern shadow horse in northeast Minneapolis near the Univeristy of Minnesota. Both company logos feature well-known railroad creatures.
Ran into these funky little guys when I was roaming around at the ArtPrize competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan this past fall. They caught my eye. Decided to have a little selective color fun with them. Someone had quite an imagination to create these guys.
"... And they had forsaken their mortal shells so easily. She only needed to whisper sweet nothings to sate their appetites now. Her Infernal tongue had promised them the land of milk of honey; fields of golden paradise; leagues upon leagues of ecstasy. They only needed to fulfill their promise to populate Her Garden, tend Her Garden, and never stray from Her Garden. And so they did, with the wings of a butterfly."
"... They're damned creatures. So beautiful, yet so hideous as She. It seems they mirror their Maker."
"Beware the kiss of a butterfly, for it may be one of Hers. Marking you for the next tribute to the grand Dusk Mass - this is the Soul Collector's sole objective."

The medusa was a beautiful woman who was followed and raped by Poseidon in a temple to Athena. Athena was offended and cursed the medusa so her hair became snakes, her lower body a serpent and her gaze would turn all to stone. I depicted her as a sad and lonely victim rather than a monster. Perseus beheaded her with Athena putting the head on her shield. Beautifully though, the Pegasus was born from her severed neck which I like to think was her spirit.

This takes me back to the Sparrow and Crow photos I did over three years ago.
Austin and I went out to Potter's Marsh the other day to take some Christmas photos together. On our way back to the car I found these wings tangled on a bush. In the fall, swans fly in to the marshes by the hundreds and leave before the ground freezes. This one seems to have been some animal's lunch, the poor beautiful creature.
It bothers me that the wings aren't centered on my back but well, they were defrosting and I was in a rush to get them back outside.
Also, on this photo I used a touch of "Blue Jeans," a curve preset by Emily (along with my own actions and tweaking). I haven't gotten to play around with them much yet, but so far her PS curves are pretty fantastic and I would highly recommend you check her shop out.

After 10 totally different ideas, this is what I finished with. My "balloons" were originally going to be Mixel-type creatures, but I couldn't make any legs that I was satisfied with. So, I decided to make them float with style instead. This is my third entry in the Style It Up! contest, and after doing a bit of measuring, the wheels touch maybe 2/3 of a stud, which is about what the bars touch as well.
Cheers!
Ben
