On May 11, 2025, I got word that one of these EMD-powered, RELCO-built MOW contraptions was headed west down the Kansas Sub, and given the free time I had, I set out to photograph it here in North Topeka.
Sure enough, after great delays at mp 67, it received a light to pull through... and then shove back into the old "Red Rock" tracks to the left.
The 958700 was rebuilt in Iowa in 2021 from an ex-CP SD40-2, the 5739.
These things may not be pretty, and from what I understand, they exist primarily as a means to skirt Union rules about engineer usage which suuuuuuucks, but hey, it's interesting to say the least. If it's here, I'll shoot it.

The Eagle Nebula (Messier 16 or M16,) is a young open cluster of stars in the constellation Serpens. The dark center of the nebula was made famous as the "Pillars of Creation" when imaged by the Hubble Space Telescope. It is approximately 5700 light years from Earth.
This is a reprocess of some older data using some new noise reduction techniques and SHO combination.

This is a shot of the Milky Way along with a Man in the foreground as a pictorial representation of God's Creation (Genesis 1, 1–28). The man allows his mind to drift towards the past (up to seventy six thousand years ago) by gazing at the Milky Way.
The disk of the Milky Way is about 100,000 light-years in maximal diameter; Earth is located 25,800 light-yrs from the galactic core: It takes the light of the Milky Way's most remote stars 75,800 years to reach the stargazer's eyes; he now looks at the stars as they were in the past (so he looks into the past). There are four hundred billion (4 × 10¹¹) stars in the Milky Way.
