This is a shot of the Milky Way along with a Man in the foreground as a pictorial representation of God's Creation (Genesis 1, 1–28). The man allows his mind to drift towards the past (up to seventy six thousand years ago) by gazing at the Milky Way.

The disk of the Milky Way is about 100,000 light-years in maximal diameter; Earth is located 25,800 light-yrs from the galactic core: It takes the light of the Milky Way's most remote stars 75,800 years to reach the stargazer's eyes; he now looks at the stars as they were in the past (so he looks into the past). There are four hundred billion (4 × 10¹¹) stars in the Milky Way.

My exhibition of photos and art is getting close now, so I'm trying to get organised and plan things . Today is printing off some Lino cuts to make some cards , so I need to clear the decks and tidy up before the ensuing mess . I love the printing but the cleaning up afterwards is always a nightmare. The title of the exhibition will be Reflecions , as that has been the driving vision of my photography for many years now. This reflected creation was from the days I spent floating after Susan had died, when being creative and playing on the beach helped me overcome the deafening grief and loss. I don't think this is how Michelangelo envisioned this painting, but I'm sure he won't mind us taking a little artistic liberty...

This marks my first time doing a collab picture with another photographer-- and an AMAZING one at that. June Starlight is a phenomenal artist with her work in Second Life photography, and was a delight to work with for this photo. In fact, it was her genius that spawned this pose! She also reverse engineered some technical goofery we ran into, and left me wide-eyed impressed! If you haven't checked out her work before, I highly encourage doing so, over here at her Flickr and her Primfeed!

The beaver has been extinct in the UK since the 16th century, however up and down the land there are now numerous reintroduction projects. Apart from the wish to see the introduction of a large mammal back into our countryside there are now strong arguments that the beaver through its dam creation will help transform many of our smaller rivers. It is expected that by building the dams the flow of water will reduce after heavy rain and therefore gradually release the run off rather than produce the deluge we often see. Of course dam creation creates ponds and floodplains which in turn will have a knock on effect on the environment. There is one such designated release area not too far from me but I have yet to see the star attractions.

This photo was taken on our recent American trip in Oregon close to the coast at Barview which is just north of Tillamook. I should have expected we might have struck lucky as Oregon is known as the "Beaver State".

I had spotted somewhere to photograph a heritage diesel service and whilst I waited the beaver appeared. Alas I only had my standard lens to hand. The diesel passed, I got my shot and returned to the car to grab my long lens. This time Shirley accompanied me and for once was pleased I had stopped for a railway photograph. Thankfully it was quite active and reappeared a couple more times. Clearly it was an industrious individual.
