I can't remember the count of Wolves and Wolf Dogs at Shy Wolf Sanctuary Education and Experience Center ... but there are a lot. What a sad statement that humans think it a good idea to breed wolves and dogs for pets .. wolves do not make good pets -- they are wild animals and should be left in the wild. Just because they are bread with a dog does not make them obedient nor does it make them crave human attention. There are some wolf-dogs at Shy Wolf that are such a large content Dog that they are adoptable to the right person with the right situation - but most will be at Shy Wolf throughout their lives. Luckily they found Shy Wolf -- it's a marvelous place where they are loved. But what a shame they were not left in the wild where they belong.
I wish I could remember each wolf's name and story - but there are so many wonderful animals we met on Monday that I cannot remember everyone's name. Each was so kind to share a small part of their day with us. some from up close and personal - coming over to say hello ... some from afar - watching us enter their homes but sticking further back or just popping over for a moment and running back to the safety of Nancy's smile. Some we could only see from outside their enclosures as they were not open to human contact. I enjoyed each moment and if you are ever planning on being in Naples Florida - call ahead of time and make a reservation to visit Shy Wolf ... if possible - I suggest taking a private tour (for a private tour they ask for a $300 tax deductible donation) - the rescue is wonderful -- the people are awesome, and the animals are amazing.

My morning ritual breakfast...egg whites and a fruit and spinach smoothie...while what I really crave lurks silently in the background. ;)
