COMFORT FOOD BY THE OCEAN

This waterside location, on Ambleside Beach in West Vancouver, has created a setting which guests clamour to enjoy. The "landmark" building with its large sunny patio and airy interior is an ideal meeting place for a romantic cocktail or gathering of family and friends.

CRAVE: where quality and care are evident in every bite of the grown-up, comfort-food menu. A delicious creation of Chef Wayne Martin (of Four Seasons Hotel executive chef background), this upscale bistro prides itself in featuring fresh, local, and often organic ingredients. The atmosphere is relaxed, casual and fun while the food is creative, generous and affordable.

'Crave' by Sarah Kane, as performed by Smack Carrots in the Smock Alley Theatre, Temple Bar.

The venue is adjacent to the main theatre and basically consists of a pit, overlooked by 2 levels of long terraces on 3 sides. To get to the viewing platforms you climb a ramp through a dark passageway around and behind the stage.

Prior to seating, the audience were invited to walk around and sit in the pit, where some of the actors (in character) wandered in an agitated manner, humming nursery rhymes and scrawling on the floor with chalk.

Ushered along the ramps by flashlight we passed other characters, creeping around, cackling, shining flashlights on our faces and an actor in the corner strumming the banjo.

During the performance actors would occasionally wander the terraces delivering their lines.

Overall a bizarre and confronting experience, pretty unforgettable mostly due to the powerful acting.

white castle fries only come in one size

My own life journey took me away from this project last week.

This week, however, I am back on track. It's one of those weeks where I was immediately inspired.

Crave.

Aside from the obvious I crave chocolate, I crave coffee, schtick, I really wanted to delve deeper into this concept. Explore the intense desire behind the meaning of the word.

I don't think I really need to explain anymore.

She pretty much covered it.

Don't you think?

Poor jared never stood a chance against the white castle chemicals!

Not a single day has passed that the simple nourishment of ice cream didn't cross my thoughts.

I didn't need to be told that I was addicted, it wasn't like I would stop if I thought it would feel better.

Who is he waving at? Maybe one of the critters out in the pasture?

She Craves is in the studio making their next CD. This is the men's restroom, apparently.

This photo is from August. I prepared two versions and couldn't decide. Then I forgot about the photo.
