Went up to Fife Ness today. There was a good easterly with an incoming tide so I got some good wave shots. Bird shots will follow later

The Merced River, flowing through a gorge below the Yosemite Valley, crashes into the huge granite boulders left by the Cookie Cliff rockslide of 1982. Note the person standing in the frame’s upper left.

Not Storm Babet but last weekend when wind was northerly

Are you in for a tip? This winter is slowly coming to an end, at least we hope so :) The word is out that there is still few snow days left ahead of us so I thought that one more snow shooting tip might come useful. THE TIP: Since almost all cameras will underexpose your image while shooting snow it is safe to manually overexpose your image in most occasions. To be on a safer side I always bracket my exposures, in one step increments, in those situations. What do you think?

Whenever I'm in New England I always to try to shoot some crashing waves. Every shot is unique and fun. Even when you get hit with a surprise wave.

Point Reyes, CA

This shot's straight out of the camera. Lots of waves, and tons of fog.

A wonderful day in March when all the elements combined to make a beautiful crashing wave in the Solent .The elements are wind strength wind direction and the height of the tide. Not many days during the year that this happens.

Crashing waves during a brief break in the rain this afternoon. Fabulous noises from the waves as they hit the shore and then as the water dragged back across the shingle.

Taking this spring on our local beach in the normal calm Solent.

As each wave of water violently crashed against the rocks, the collision created a vigorous splash. In that moment, the strike turned bright white, while the rocks remained dark, lying in the shadows. Across the sea, clouds were gently colored, with a sliver of blue along the horizon.

However, getting to this spot was the most challenging part. Traversing the steep grade down, the loose moving gravel, and sharply barbed bushes, one had to move slowly and carefully. But, it was all worth it in the end, where incidentally, I did catch a barb.

Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, Wales, UK

Once I started photographing these king tide waves, I found it difficult to stop! You always think you should just stay for one more wave because it might be even better!
