The main PCB of the unit. It contains a Z80A CPU, Z80A-PIO (for the parallel interface), Z80A-DART (channel A for the RS232 interface, Channel B is switched between the current loop interface, cassette interface and internal strip printer), Z80A-CTC (baud rate clocks for the DART), 34K RAM, 30K ROM, the printer control microcontroller and glue logic.

I'm constantly amazed at technology but this takes some beating. A fully working general purpose computer that is the same size as a credit card and costs just £30. It uses a 700MHZ Arm Processor with an in-built video chip and sound chip, capable of playing Full HD video and has 256MB RAM. Storage is provided via an SD Card slot, there are two USB ports (for a mouse/keyboard or additional storage), ethernet networking, HDMI and Composite video output, audio jack output. OK so you have to provide your own mouse, keyboard, display and storage but it packs an amazing amount of power for £30. It uses the Linux operating system and is designed to encourage more IT teaching in the way the BBC Micro was used in the 1980s. The CPU is from ARM (formerly Acorn, who manufactured the original BBC Micro) and is also built now in the UK.
