"... in blue twilight ..."

Here is another ancient photo take very soon after acquiring my first digital SLR, a little Rebel XSi.

Here is southbound Alaska Railroad train 157W, the old Central Paving Products gravel train back in the days when there were three competing shippers all moving aggregate by rail before CPP was purchased by QAP. This train would have been loaded by my old friend Bill Kerslake at their old pit and loading site on the loop located off the Palmer Branch. The train is on its way to south Anchorage behind a pair of SD70MACs as seen in this view looking down off the Glenn Highway overpass just north of Eklutna at about MP 142.4.

Here is an image from a collaborative CPP roll shot with the very cool mikecole, something that I just discovered this evening while organizing some files. It might have been an outtake, but looking at it now, I find the simple contrast charming. Ok. He grabbed his shot at home in New York, while my exposure was captured in lovely F-burg, Texas at the end of last year -- the Supersampler frame(s).

Well, thanks again, Mike, and I appreciate you stopping by! Prost. ^_^

Per Wikipedia, Liberty Sculpture Park is a non-governmental nonprofit sculpture park located aside the Interstate 15 in Yermo, California, United States. The park is themed after fighting for democracy and freedom for the people of China and of the world, opposing the communist tyranny, and mourning the victims of communism. The first CPP Virus statue was destroyed by arson.

Here are a few additional images from a new collaborative CPP roll shot with Annie Is Back! She grabbed her shot on vacation in Greece, while my exposure is from the Hill Country of Texas.

Thanks so much for graciously donating your wonderful photography to the project, Annie -- & thank you for stopping by. Prost! ^_^

this has a lot going for it - in fact, i think it would make a great pattern for use in Tweed fabric !!

[ Note: This is Numbers group post no. 21,123. 8^) ]

This is another one of the first images from a couple of CPP rolls (collaborative double exposure project) shot with Georgie, aka 3_little_birds. She grabbed her shots while on vacation in Cuba, and my exposures are from the Hill Country of Texas. With this CPP image, aside from my completely annoying fixation on the number 23 rearing its wacky head, I like how the fisheye shot (of a simple brick walkway) looks like a volleyball. OK. I'm easily amused/distracted/entertained/whatever.

These experimental results are from a roll pretty much chosen at random, but I look forward to again having the time to post new stuff -- including results from numerous CPP collaborations.

Thanks, Georgie, and I promise to have the rest of this, as well as the results from another roll, posted soon! Prost! ^_^

You might (perhaps not) have noticed that I've been on a sort of hiatus from Flickr for very personal reasons, my first, I believe, since joining at the end of 2004. Caterina had given me a 3-month Pro account for research purposes as part of a story that I was working on at the time and, quite simply, I never left -- until last month, that is, and it feels nice to be around this place again. These experimental results are from a roll pretty much chosen at random, but I look forward to again having the time to post new stuff -- including results from numerous CPP collaborations -- and more importantly to spend time checking out the latest from your streams and to see all the cool things that you've been working on.

Thanks for all of the kind, über-cool comments and Flickr-mails! And I really appreciate Georgie and all of you who have entrusted me with your film to be used/abused ;) for the wacky CPP project -- I'll try no to let you down (well, @ least not too much ;). I'm not back, but will gradually make my presence known again, here and there, with enigmatic comments, unsettling images, and so forth. In the spirit of Halloween, I won't make some grandiose return, but rather creeeeeeeeeep my way... ;)

Prost! >:)

[ aka another wicked scratch remix ]

Even though Thanksgiving is almost here, I have a hard time letting go of Halloween! 8^)

This is a sort of remix (reconnected images scanned seperately from the original negative) from my CPP collaboration with -fiona- -- a series of outtakes, really. For my round of exposures on this roll, I covered lenses 2 & 3 as an experiment, and most of the shots were grabbed on Halloween! An experiment, of course, in several ways. In some of the shots, the blocked Supersampler frames ended up blank, nonetheless leaving some interesting negative space.

Cheers, Fi, wherever you are, and thank you for stopping by. Prost!

During a training exercise at Great Georges Street, the CPP from City Centre is used as an anchor point in order to raise the basket stretcher with casualty from the ventilation/access shaft of the rail tunnel.

The lines are hauled from a separate anchor point through the pulley attached to the CPP.

My new toy.

Now I can process all my E-6 films at home.

Yesterday using a Fuji-Hunt 3E6, a 3 bath E-6 kit and my recently acquired Jobo CPP-2, I've processed 1 135 and 2 120 films.

Everything went smoothly.

The results: perfect.

I'll post something soon.
