Title: Tangled Twinkles
Paper: Strathmore Bristol Smooth 8x10
Pencils: Prismacolors (with lots of white for burnishing). Used a workable fixative to add more depth, and applied bits of Posca marker for some of the highlights and dots in light bulbs.
*I have no art background, but followed a couple tutorials in May/June of 2017. Then, a year later, I started trying to actively learn colored pencils with a few tutorials - and then I created one bird on my own. However, I have done almost all of my artwork (5 more tutorials and a tiger) just over the past month!! So, pretty much only now beginning! (Edit: Since my submission here, in December I've now done two more of my own art pieces.)

Mostly Pablo with some Luminance and Derwent Drawing White for the snake. I sketched out the driftwood with Pablos and then switched to Derwent drawing. I used Prismacolor for the sky.

Prismacolor pencil drawing. I used Fabriano White Ecological Artist paper. I didn't like this paper for a couple of reasons. It was very smeary and I was constantly erasing fingerprints. Also I wasn't able to get a smooth finish. I did love the beautiful photo.

Prismacolor Premier Pencils on 4x5 black sanded Uart paper, blending stump, Gamsol and brush
Tried out a new paper that I purchased in a sample pack a while back. I liked how the paper gripped the lead, but the texture makes it very difficult to smooth out. I tried many things to smooth it from colorless blender to gamsol and finally got some satisfaction with a felt blending stump. I would use this paper again on a subject which calls for lots of texture. Overall, not unhappy with the outcome.

A slight change to the colour of the original to support 'Childhood cancer awareness month'. I didn't think I was going to enjoy doing this, as I'm not a fan of dolls. However, the hair and eyes were fun to do. And I got to play with mark making and showing construction lines.
