It's #SunsetSunday, so here's a re-edit of Space Mountain from 2015. Still getting used to precision masks, but I think the blend came out decently. Nightfall on Paradise Pier. This is yet another very old photo that I've gone and retouched. Unfortunately I can't fix the fatal error I made in taking this photo: I didn't take bright enough exposures for the shadows. I do like the kind of dark tone it is, though. Also I take pride in the fact that I fixed Mickey's face on the Fun Whell by hand because originally the exposure was weird and the colors were off. It's (not) A Small Edit After All...I keep finding these old photos that didn't blend well and they were such cool shots that I just HAVE to go back and re-edit them, even though a ton of them are from Christmas-time. I had trouble merging the highlights on parts of this and keeping the flares from getting too blurred out with my sky edits on this one. Power through those hills! I decided to take another look at editing this photo properly, as the original blend of this image squashed a bunch of details I wanted to include (like it totally blended out the headlight streaks). I was trying out a new feature on the blending panel I use and it does a pretty decent job of blending the highlights in. This is a photo I took Christmas Eve of 2015. I never published it because I couldn't figure out how to properly process the idea I had in my head. You see, this isn't just a normal HDR photo, it's actually 3 highs, 3 lows, and 3 mids which were merged together and then HDR done via luminosity masks. And away we go! This is another older photo that I re-edited. I wasn't happy with the original blend at all, and it missed the whole ponit of what I was going for (I wanted the Fun Wheel spinning AND a streak of light where the coaster zoomed off). So I decided to blend a couple of different exposures by hand, which allowed me to blend two different high exposures together to get the coaster car and Fun Wheel moving at the same time. Flik's Flying to the Tower. This was a really cool idea I had way back in 2015, to put Tower and long exposed spinner in the same shot. It's still a great shot today, I just never returned because I originally couldn't get it blend properly so that Tower wouldn't get blown out.
