The Cathedral of the Transfiguration is a Catholic Byzantine house of worship named in honour of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ. The land on which the Cathedral stands was donated by the late Stephen Roman which "he built as a beacon of religious freedom". The Cathedral was modeled on a church in Novy Ruskov, the Slovak village where Mr. Roman was raised. Its cornerstone and altar stone were blessed by Pope John Paul II during his 1984 visit to Canada, marking this the first time a Roman Pontiff consecrated a church in North America. No fancy equipment or lighting - just a plant pot with a black bin liner inside and a milk bottle filled with water hanging from the washing line with a hole pierced in the bottom so that the water could drip out.

Cancellations due to COVID19 allowed the opportunity to reserve and stay on short notice at lodges within several National Parks. These lodges (i.e., including Yosemite and Crater Lake) are generally impossible to reserve otherwise. The parks were fairly empty. My wife were walking back with dinner to our room when I noticed this magnificent sight. The falls were the first sight as we walked in and out of our room. The view was always impressive. However, the diminishing light minutes before sunset added a touch of mystery to this natural wonder.
BTW, I wanted to take the opportunity to inform everyone that Flickr is no longer sending notifications to Yahoo mail accounts. I only receive notices regarding promotions by Flickr. As a result, it is impossible to track and reciprocate all Faves. Sorry about that and stay healthy!

Well! Given the current conditions you're very likely to see many more pictures of 'My Tree'. Hopefully you'll like them but in the meantime keep safe and keep healthy.
My local coffee shop are doing a great job re reducing the covid risk to their customers. After each use of a highchair it is sanitized and then wrapped in cling film ready for the next customer. I've not noticed this anywhere else.....

To believe on kismet, karma,fate, god's will or devil's revenge allow to live a somnambulic life. Science, scepticism, principle of scientific falsification, public control of scientific findings, democratic separation of powers are relevant to give next generations a chance to live in dignity.
Desolation is the framework for human ignorance that is rampant even in pandemic times.
The human being is the real pandemic ?!
