We heard this couple of Hornbills long before we saw them on our excursion at Kapama Nature Reserve in South Africa. It was almost like a song they were singing.
They are also the subjects of my next monochrome animal portrait series.

Yesterday afternoon I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try some different processing techniques… in the hope of finding something that might improve this otherwise crappy image that I’d captured in Mouille Point a couple of weeks ago.
The processed B&W image didn’t look too bad on my large LCD screen at home… but now that I’m viewing it on my LCD here at work… it looks even crappier than the original colour version!! Oh well… I’m chalking it up as a learning experience! :)

I got the female elf from Bricklink. I believe she was a BAM exclusive last year.....
I bought myself a 40mm macro lens... I think it will be helpful for shots like this when I want a slightly wider angle of view than my usual 60mm lens. So far I like it!
