In standard fashion, firefighters from South Fulton-GA Fire Rescue, Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services, Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services, Emergency Room physicians from Emory Emergency Medicine Residency out of Emory University and Dekalb County Fire Rescue Department as the hosting agency chose to spend this International Firefighters' Day conducting some multi-jurisdictional #trench #training. Not to be forgotten and equally as important is Construction Safety Week with a proactive approach to focus on #firefighter #safety and #preparedness.

SP Train 11, the southbound Casade, makes its station stop at Berkeley. The run down from Portland has just about concluded for the train. F7A 6203 leads the lengthy train of coaches and sleepers on this occasion. Deadheading right behind the motive power is one of PRR's 1949 "Colonial" series 3 Bedroom-1 Drawing Room-Bar-Lounge cars. The occasion is unknown for the car's presence. It probably had come west either on a temporary lease or for a tour group. Presumably the car would return east from Oakland in the COSF.

Today, city of South Fulton Fire Rescue FF Nix, FF Miller, Fire Sgt. Carden and Batt. Chief Willis attended a birthday party ride by with Engine 4 in the Highland Oaks Dr. community across from Westlake High School. COSF Fire Rescue was requested to do a #rideby as a part of a child’s 5th birthday party. Today, city of South Fulton Fire Rescue FF Nix, FF Miller, Fire Sgt. Carden and Batt. Chief Willis attended a birthday party ride by with Engine 4 in the Highland Oaks Dr. community across from Westlake High School. COSF Fire Rescue was requested to do a #rideby as a part of a child’s 5th birthday party. CONGRATULATIONS to these young ladies who finished South Fulton - GA Fire Rescue’s Camp E.M.B.E.R.S. Day 3 was completed followed by a graduation ceremony for these brave and phenomenal young ladies. Thank you to not only the parents and the participants of the program but to the partnering agencies that allowed their staff to help make this camp a success! Those agencies are City of South Fulton Police Department, Coweta County Fire Rescue, City of South Fulton, GA Communications Division, all guest speakers and of course our very own civilian and sworn staff of the South Fulton (Ga.) Fire Rescue Department led by Fire Chief Chad Jones.

UP Baggage Car is part of the Mo-Ark Regional Railroad Museum collection.
This lightweight steel and aluminum car was built as a Postal Storage Car in October 1949 as part of an 11 car order from ACF. It was assigned to MOW service in April 1969, and given the number UP 24436. It was later renumbered UP 904236 in 1975 and was used in service on a wreck train with derrick.
There are several heavy duty workbenches inside the car, along with storage racks at the far end that were once used to store mail and express. Today they are still stenciled for things like rerailing irons, and runaround hoses.
The car was donated to the museum by UP in 1988, and was repainted to this scheme by 1990, and has had very little work done since then, and beyond some ungodly fading paint, it doesn't really need any, being of primarily aluminum construction.

The China Oxford Scholarship Fund would like to congratulate Jerome Hui (COSF Scholar 2005) and Yuen Yi Lo (COSF Scholar 2006) on their recent wedding at the Bodleian Library at Oxford University on the 3rd August, 2012. Jerome earned his DPhil in Zoology and was at Merton College while Yuen Yi earned her DPhil in Linguistics and was at St Hilda's College. Yuen Yi will be taking up an Assistant Professorship at the University of Hong Kong while Jerome will take up an Assistant Professorship at the Chinese University later this year. The Fund wishes the couple all the very best and a very happy and brilliant future together.
Came back on part of the Western Plateau Trail. Dumps you onto Conejo Center Dr. at what looks like a private locked gate. In general, the signage is non-existent on this trail so far and you often get the impression that you might be trespassing, but the trails are on the open space map. Some people out there, too. A few bikers and hikers. Not completely empty like some trails I've been on.

A grungy F7 freight unit was added at Sparks on account of the business car bringing up the markers. This was taken just east of Truckee on June 21, 1970.
Train had four sleepers, five coaches, coffee shop and dome-lounge.
