Following my shot yesterday of a burn on a hill.

We came across this scene one afternoon where we came close to seeing the Burn being done, the burn is done to encourage the growth of new shoots in the Heather to feed livestock and Grouse, I believe it is done in a very controlled way with farmers adhering to prescribed guidelines.

I think this is somewhere around Goathland on the North York Moors.

Locals to Yorkshire may know this, What are the poles beside the road in my shot here, are they to indicate the road in adverse weather conditions I wonder.

Fort Baker, Battery Spencer. I believe this is as close as one can get to the bridge at Battery Spencer. This was fun.

My intrigue for New York's fencing habits. I'm very excited about how this photo transitions as far as depth of field is concerned.

Now, I'm just quoting from un upcoming blog post, but…

I don't know if it's just the sun, but Philly seems so much warmer than New York, and I'm not talking about heat. It feels so inviting. I enjoyed New York very thoroughly, but New York as a place to make a residence? Not for me. NYC fences everything. It's a small detail, but it's biting. The playgrounds, the parks, the grass, the courts… everything feels uncomfortably controlled. Man *conquered* New York, mastered New York, even. And I guess it turns out I'm not so in tune with controlling our environments to that degree.

🎶 I don't wanna lose control

Nothing I can do anymore

Tryin' every day when I hold my breath

Spinnin' out in space pressing on my chest

I don't wanna lose control🎶

This scene reminded me of Marionette puppets controlled by strings

The art of kite flying contrasted against the brilliance of this golden, winter sunset.

**It is really quite amazing to see how close these people can stand together without having their strings become tangled up in the sky.

Fujica G690 with Fujinon S 100mm f3.5

Ilford HP5 Plus

Developed with DD-X and "scanned" with a Sony mirrorless.

The whole point of this shot was to test the Fujica in a "controlled" environment, with a cable release and all. But, to my frustration, my cable release wouldn't fire it! The cable in question is a modern budget one that works well with all my other cameras, but not with this beautiful brick :) SO, since it was on a tripod, I decided to try and fire the Fujica without the cable (reeeally carefully pushing down the shutter release) and it actually turned out OK, even though I used a rather slow shutter speed.

Later I bought an old and sturdy Pentax cable release, and it fires the Fujica every time.

I'm bigger than my body

I'm colder than this home

I'm meaner than my demons

I'm bigger than these bones

And all the kids cried out, "Please stop, you're scaring me"

I can't help this awful energy

God damn right, you should be scared of me

Who is in control?

I'm well acquainted with villains that live in my head

They beg me to write them so they'll never die when I'm dead

- somehow a "brother-in-spirit" of this one: though (oh well...) I am at least knee-deep into technology of all sorts and kinds, somehow I wonder how it actually works - man controlling machine? This device (an office-building-sized coal excavator) is just, well, sort of a "mountain of steel", making you feel awfully small, pondering what might happen if machines like these actually get out of hands...

Early in the morning I still get a little bit nervous

Fighting my anxiety constantly, I try to control it

Even when I know it's been forever I can still feel the spin

Hurts when I remember and I never wanna feel it again

Don't know if you get it 'cause I can't express how thankful I am

That you were always with me when it hurts, I know that you'd understand

I don't wanna lose control

Nothing I can do anymore

Tryin' every day when I hold my breath

Spinnin' out in space pressing on my chest

I don't wanna lose control

Sometimes I still think it's coming but I know it's not

Tryin' to breathe in and then out but the air gets caught

'Cause even though I'm older now and I know how to shake off the past

I wouldn't have made it if I didn't have you holding my hand

I don't wanna lose control

Nothing I can do anymore

Tryin' every day when I hold my breath

Spinnin' out in space pressing on my chest

I don't wanna lose control

I need you to know I would never be this strong without you

You've seen how I've grown, you took all my doubts, 'cause you were home

I don't wanna lose control

There's nothing I can do anymore

I don't wanna lose control, oh-oh-oh-oh

Nothing I can do anymore

Tryin' every day when I hold my breath

Spinnin' out in space pressing on my chest

I don't wanna lose control
