McDonald Creek flowing heavy with rain and snow melt in June is an impressive sight.
I visited Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park about a week before the Going-to-the-Sun Road was cleared for passenger vehicles in 2018. It was a bit disappointing, as the weather was wet, with heavy cloud cover, and the only way to get from West Glacier (where I initially stayed) to East Glacier is to drive US 2 about half-a-day around the southern part of the park.
I am intent on getting back to Glacier National Park in the near future to better experience the "Crown of the Continent" - If the Good Lord's Willing and the Creek Don't Rise...
This used to be the Jumeirah Hotel Frankfurt until this April. It was the first Jumeirah on the European continent. Obviously, not as successful as it needed to be.
In the back of this image the IG Farben Haus, the Deutsche Bundesbank and the Ginnheimer Spargel (TV tower) all line up in front of the slopes of the Taunus.
Here in Brazil we are already counting down to the summer, me and family countdown to vacations. And in this vacation, in early December, we will cross the continent and land in Portugal to know the land of the discoverers. Enjoy the cold weather, and enjoy good Portuguese cuisine and beautiful cities.

This is the beach of Notre Dame. Hidden behind a wood, sheltered from the wind, this beautiful white sand beach located north of the island of Porquerolles is fascinatingly beautiful.
Less crowded than the other beaches of the island, Notre-Dame beach extends for nearly 800 meters. Then you will be quiet to rest, contemplate the landscape and swim in the turquoise blue sea.
This amazing island is the largest and most western of the three islands of Hyères. According to European Best Destinations, an organization that promotes culture and tourism in the Old Continent, this is where the most beautiful beach in Europe is.

Proteas are a beautiful and interesting plant family from Southern Africa being very similar in appearance to the Waratah family of plants in Australia.
Proteas belong to the same family of plants (Proteaceae) as Australia's native Banksias, Grevilleas and Waratahs plus they require similar soil and climatic conditions and are extremely resilient plants.
The Proteaceae plants are an ancient plant family from the time of the Gondwana super continent when Dinosaurs were still extant.
Fossils of Grevillea Robusta (Proteaceae family) and feather fossils from this time period have been found from birds believed to be filling a similar ecological niche to todays Honey eaters for fertilizing these flowers.

They are flowering shrubs in the genus Rhododendron, particularly the former sections Tsutsuji (evergreen) and Pentanthera (deciduous). Azaleas bloom in the spring (May and June in the temperate Northern Hemisphere), their flowers often lasting several weeks. Shade tolerant, they prefer living near or under trees.Azaleas are generally slow-growing and do best in well-drained acidic soil (4.5–6.0 pH). Fertilizer needs are low. Some species need regular pruning. Azaleas are native to several continents including Asia, Europe and North America. They are planted abundantly as ornamentals in the southeastern US, southern Asia, and parts of southwest Europe. In addition to being renowned for its beauty, the azalea is also highly toxic—it contains andromedotoxins in both its leaves and nectar, including honey from the nectar. 24786

* A shot from Namibia from 2007 and the fourth continent on our December travels . This was taken from the top of Dune 7 it was a extremely hard climb in the heat, i would not even attempt it now. The view from the summit was incredible . I am pretty sure about half way down you can just see Mary who had given up the climb she had more sense
Dune 7 is the highest dune in Namibia. The dune has been measured at over 1,256 feet and is named Dune 7 because it is the seventh dune one encounters after crossing the river Tsauchab.

Before knowing the weather condition of the Himalayan region we should understand its geography. The Himalayan region covers an area of 2,250 km with an average width of 200 km.
The forest belt of the Himalayan region consists of Oak, Rhododendron, Birch, Pine, Deodar, and Fir. And the monsoon season in this region lasts for mid June till the end of September. The Himalayas influences the meteorological conditions in the Indian subcontinent to the south and in the Central Asian highlands to the north to a great extent. It acts a climatic divider circulating the air and water system to a great extent. Because of its altitude and location it blocks the passage of the cold winds coming from the north to the Indian sub continent thereby making India's climate much more moderate. It also influences the rainfall pattern in India. The combined effect of rainfall, latitude and altitude largely influences the forests belts in the Himalayan region. The rainfall is mostly recorded during the monsoon time of June to September but it decreases as you travel from east to west. The snow-capped ranges of the Himalayas stretch 2, 250 km from the Namcha Barwa to Nanga Parbat on the Indus. The range extends from east to west up to central-Nepal and then takes a southeast to northwest direction.

Dandelions seem to grow all over North America, and probably the other continents, too. Like the rest of the Asteraceae, they have sterile ray flowers (which look like petals) and fertile disc flowers.
Even if they are common, and often treated as weeds, they have beauty. Isn't God a great artist? Thanks for looking at my photo.

Andalusia is located in southern Spain and covers an area of 8 provinces. Andalusia is the second largest autonomous region in Spain. Beautiful Andalucía, the land of olives, oranges, sunflowers, beautiful mountain ranges and valleys, nice white mountain villages with beautiful squares, is a bridge between two continents, Africa and Europe, and is the point where the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea meet. There is something for everyone in Andalusia, from culture to beautiful terraces, sights, long beaches, beautiful inland areas with beautiful reservoirs, mountains and nice villages to visit. The capital of Andalusia is Seville. Zahara de la Sierra is certainly one of the most beautiful white villages Pueblos Blancos in Andalusia. The center has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1977. Zahara de la Sierra is nestled on a hilltop surrounded by the turquoise water of the reservoir. At the top, the Moorish castle watches over this whitewashed village and the surrounding area. The most famous landmark is undoubtedly the 13th-century Nasrid castle and its watchtower, the Torre del Homenaje.
The historic ruins and the breathtaking view of Zahara de la Sierra make a walk worthwhile! Zahara can get very hot in the summer months. You would soon desire a dip in fresh water, and that is also possible, a fresh dive, eating in the open air and other activities in this beautiful village! Viewpoint on the hilly area of Zahara de la Sierra and fantastic views of the reservoir and Lijar Mountains!

The Uros (or Urus) are a people who once inhabited floating islands in the Puno region, on the Peruvian shore of Lake Titicaca. The name Uros comes from their initial language, uruquilla, in which they called themselves Kyotsuñi, an abbreviation of the Qhas words qut suñi meaning "people of the lake". Another denomination is Lupihaques, meaning "son of the sun".
PENDING... Ribes
More from the garden, a beautiful deep rich colour... open inviting.
Ribes sanguineum (Ornamental Currant), when young in Spring, they have a strong resinous scent. The flowers are produced in early spring at the same time as the leaves emerge.
This member of the gooseberry family is a plant we know well in Great Britain and the Continent.
As it has escaped from gardens many years ago, and is now naturalised along many roadside hedgerows, where it is to be seen in flower in March, long before other woody species are in bloom.
Its leaves have a pungent smell and are very like those of the gooseberry, but it is without the gooseberry's sharp thorns. It usually grows up to about 2-3 m tall.
With love to you and thanx for your comments, M, (* _ *)

Skullcrusher - Golden Eagle flies by with ground squirrel kill. I switched cameras to account for the fact that the eagles were flying farther out today. The moment I switched cameras of course, the male Golden Eagle nabs a shrieking California Ground Squirrel and flies right by me with an audible whoosh of wings. I frantically panned and zoomed out. Fortunately, I locked on and got the key sequence in critical focus. I was very pleased to finally capture an image of a Golden Eagle with prey with a soft background.
This particular eagle is an extremely quick and efficient hunter. He originally grabbed the squirrel by the body, but deftly readjusted one set of talons to crush the skull in midair. It's no wonder Golden Eagles are apex aerial predators across multiple continents: they combine size, strength, and speed, all three of which are a rare combination in a single species of raptor.

This male Harlequin Duck hauled out temporarily on a rock in the creek below Cameron Falls in Waterton Lakes National Park in southwestern Alberta. Miss Continent 2023: Russian Federation.
I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity given to me for the first time in the history of the Miss Continent pageant to represent not Russia, but the Russian Federation, the largest country on the earth that has territories both in Europe and Asia and represent and speak on behalf of the 190 nationalities that make up this vast country.
In my journey in Miss Continent, I intend to show you unknown regions and styles that will not always be Russian stereotypes, but they are included in the great heritage of the "Russian world" as national treasures.
For today’s presentation on the theme "Tropical Forest Paradise," Tara took inspiration from nature around the Black Sea areas.
According to historians, there are no natural tropical forests within the Russian Federation. But, in the southernmost climatic zone are the subtropics, on the Black Sea coast around the Caucasus that hold something different, awaiting you.
The tropical forest is like a precious treasure of oxygen along with many colorful jewels in emerald, citrine and rubies.. all bright and rich colors you can ever imagine. Full of millions of wonderful bird songs and the warmth of sun rays. Sometimes, when rains come, the water drops make Life wake under the hot sun.
