Roman triumphal arch celebrating emperor Constantine's victory at the Battle of Milvan Bridge in 312 A.D. The arch was finished in 315 - but it incorporates elements recycled (nicked) from other victory monuments, dedicated to the earlier emperors Trajan, Hadrian and Marcus Aurelius, that is to say we are talking about pieces that at the time of construction of this arch was some 100 to 200 years old.
Forgetting everything and just being......
Back from the east coast where we spent the weekend WiFi no longer exists and was trying to keep up with 2 bars of 3G mobile data... I buy 5G ipad 12 pro and get 3G so what is the good of that I ask myself...

Arch of Constantine, Rome, Italy
The Arch of Constantine (Italian: Arco di Costantino) is a triumphal arch in Rome dedicated to the emperor Constantine the Great. The arch was commissioned by the Roman Senate to commemorate Constantine's victory over Maxentius at the Battle of Milvian Bridge in AD 312. Situated between the Colosseum and the Palatine Hill, the arch spans the Via Triumphalis, the route taken by victorious military leaders when they entered the city in a triumphal procession. [a] Dedicated in 315, it is the largest Roman triumphal arch, with overall dimensions of[1] 21 m (69 ft) high, 25.9 m (85 ft) wide and 7.4 m (24 ft) deep. It has three bays, the central one being 11.5 m (38 ft) high and 6.5 m (21 ft) wide and the laterals 7.4 m (24 ft) by 3.4 m (11 ft) each. The arch is constructed of brick-faced concrete covered in marble.

His lighter kinda looks like a baby bottle xD. Anyways this is another older custom. The reason it doesn't have a painted face is I haven't figured out a good way to get skin colored heads. So I'll be happy to hear if anyone knows a good way of getting some.
…..A nice Cornish ‘Sea Fix’ today I thought would be in order seeing as the weather is not so good a the moment in many places and a forecast of 65 - 70 MPH to hit the coast suggests some rather bigger waves are to come!!!!! Stay safe & cosy everyone. .….. Alan:-)

I had seen many images of Constantine Bay in guide books to beaches in Cornwall. However, they all seemed to show the same scene - the sweep of the bay towards Trevose Head - and none of them showed this view, looking back towards Treyarnon Head. Apparently, this was Lady Thatcher's favourite location for her holidays in the 1980s, though her holiday accommodation was in a more private spot compared with the cottage in my photograph.

A major tourist attraction today the Arc de Constantine commemorates the ruler of a reunited Rome in 324 AD known as Constantine the Great. When the western empire fell the eastern empire remained a stronghold of Roman power and took the name Constantinople in modern day turkey today known as Istanbul.
A long exposure shot of Constantine Bay taken from Treynon headland. A very windy and cold day - a typical British early summer day!!!

Birds are my number one subject, but I’ve always had an interest in ancient history and art. I’m going to share a few photos of the artwork housed in the Palazzo dei Conservatori in Rome, the oldest public collection of art in the world, began in 1471.
The marble remains of Constantine the Great's colossal statue you see here were unearthed in the late 15th century and placed by Michelangelo in the Courtyard of the Palazzo, where they still remain.
