Les Terres de Cassiopée
Dans la mythologie de Poësia, Cassiopée, la Dame de lumière, éclaire nos vies
d’une lumière chaude ou froide, éclatante ou sombre, irréelle ou illusoire selon l’humeur du temps qui passe.
Elle parcourt sans arrêt, les rivages de ses Terres entourées d’océans,
célébrant l’immémoriale rencontre de la mer et de la terre.
Mais, c’est à l’automne, lorsque les rivages ont retrouvé leur quiétude, que l’on peut plus facilement observer la Dame de lumière et comprendre l’ampleur de sa tâche…
…cette tâche qui consiste à célébrer l’union improbable d’une mer froide, d’humeur ténébreuse, à une terre aux couleurs de l’automne, encore inondée de soleil et qui refuse désespérément de se soumettre à la grisaille de l’hiver qui déferle de la mer.
Ce sont les Terres de Cassiopée,
Terres des sculpteurs de lumière humaine.

Note to the reader: The Lands of Cassiopeia are the second "continent" of the imaginary world of Poësia, after Outland, from where came most of the images published in the last few months. Human beings live here, without borders, with their joys, their sorrows, their arts.
The Lands of Cassiopeia
In the mythology of Poësia, Cassiopeia, the Lady of Light, illuminates our lives with a warm or cold light, bright or dark, unreal or illusory depending on the mood of the time.
She travels endlessly, the shores of its Land surrounded by oceans, celebrating the immemorial encounter of the sea and land.
But in the fall, when the shores have regained their composure, one can more easily observe the Lady of Light and understand the extent of her task.
... this task of celebrating the improbable union of a cold sea, of a dark mood, with a land of autumn colors, still flooded with sunshine and desperately refusing to submit to the greyness of the winter that sweeps from the sea.
These are the Cassiopeia Lands,
Lands of sculptors of human light.

The spiritual aspect of valor is evidenced by composure -the calm presence of mind. Tranquility is courage in repose.

(Behind-the-scene: I found this seemingly "crucified" leaf in the idlewilds of the Deep South one cold December afternoon. I was amazed at how "perfectly" it sat, caught, entwined, if you will, among the branches of this tree. I never thought the scene to be sad nor remorseful. What I realized, instead is the lesson of grace under pressure. That gift of human composure and grace amidst definite adversity and certain regret. There's just so much that our world around us can teach us. If we would only dare look. Peace, and love, and grace to each of you all, my friends. :) )

When I woke up the morning I photographed this – I had a couple of concepts in mind, but was drawn / excited to use this red fabric I recently purchased (inspired by Brook Shadens photograph, ‘”Mother May I”). Thus the red fabric it was! Having recently been shooting more for myself lately – its amazing how a piece in progress takes on its own energy and shape – realizing ultimately reflecting your own subconscious. For anyone, regardless of what you feel your artistic capabilities are, I highly recommend taking on a creative piece – as if you invest the time into it, it will speak beyond words.

Chestnut Mountain Lodge in Galena, Illinois is a beautiful place to stop for a Fall Foliage shoot. Even though the day was very windy, the temperature was chilly to mild. Restaurant sitting was outside only which the view was outstanding as you can tell by these photo images. I had my Canon with me and took many images with my different lenses but I decided to take a few with my IPhone 11 Pro so that I could post right away. Serenity Meaning and Definition:
(n.) The quality or state of being serene; clearness and calmness; quietness; stillness; peace.
(n.) Calmness of mind; eveness of temper; undisturbed state; coolness; composure.
I particularly love this shot not because of the brown and golden crispy leaves but for the difficulty I had to undertake regarding composure to get this lovely clear photograph. For me it was not a case of getting down on my hands and knees in which to line up this shot - oh
no it was much more difficult for me.
Sat upright on my scooter I had to place my camera on the floor and composure was carried out by taking one photograph at a time for me to check back through the photos taken and then adjust the cameras position in which to achieve a lovely photograph - the joys of being a disabled photographer.
The male Red-tailed hawk might have been a novice. His first attempt at mating was a failure. Stay tuned, though, he regains his composure after flying off for a while and returns to redeem himself.
Some common synonyms of tranquil are calm, peaceful, placid, and serene. While all these words mean "quiet and free from disturbance," tranquil suggests a very deep quietude or composure.
As the sun sets on this winter evening in southwestern Pennsylvania, the deep blue of twilight envelope the Monongahela River valley. A riverboat pushing barges filled with coal nearly disappears into the blue shadows. The glow of the setting sun highlights the rolling hills on the far bank of the river and the leafless winter trees stand silhouetted against the golden sky. A puddle on the river bank reflects a patch of the evening light before me as I sat at the closed boat launch just enjoying the serenity of twilight at the Monongahela River Valley. Another beautiful day is ending.

A Steppe Eagle (Aquila nipalensis) was inspecting the ambience from the top. I love the perfect expression of the raptor under such beautiful light. The bokeh here is fabulous and so well complemented with the colours and personality of the bird. It looks like the boss governing the surrounding territory with command. Pics was taken from the outskirts of Bikaner, Rajasthan, India.
When these two met for the first time a month ago, Otis tried briefly to be intimidating. This time, he maintained a friendly composure. (Camille is "off-camera" but she is present.)
It’s that beach again. Again. You will have guessed, too, that it is a two-image in-camera multiple exposure of two ICMs with a horizontal swipe and, for a change, zoom burst using the camera’s Darken blend mode.
What intrigued me with this one is the subtle effect of the zoom. It centres the horizontal movement of the first ICM and gives a sense of perspective and movement…
I cooked the colours a little and there was some work in Nik Color Efex to add interest to the colours and heighten the perspective.

After play there comes a time of rest, and contemplating, regaining composure and energy in preparation for play again. This is once again Maji and Anga, pressed up next to each other after the sneak attack. Relaxing under the overcast sky as the heat of the day slowly begins to ramp up. Beautiful animals, their spots still apparent on their fur, even as they grow and mature into the large cats they are destined to be. It’s always a privilege to observe such gorgeous animals, even if for a moment. Not long after this I walked away, feeling refreshed and excited for the rest of my day, interestingly enough, this was the last photo I took during the trip to the zoo that came back useable, and even still I walked away with a smile on my face, rather than a feeling of disappointment.
