lensbaby practice on a country morning.

KC-97 at the March Field Air Museum. Shot with my Lensbaby Composer Pro with Sweet 35 optic with a touch of color at the bottom of the image from the 'almond' crystal in Lensbaby's OMNI filter color expansion pack.

Taken with my Lensbaby Original with no aperture disk. After seeing a few shots taken by lensbaby's this week, I decided I wanted to go out and take a few. Using it as a standard lens with the aperture disks has never really excited me, I think that's because the overall image quality is poor and being a bit of a quality freak and a pixel peeper to boot, I usually end up not being happy with the results. But I do love using it without an aperture disk and getting these amazing bokeh abstracts. When you push and pull the lens you can get all sorts of crazy effects. I made a short film using this technique a while ago and got some cool results.

I would love to get my hands on one of the newer lensbaby models like the composer, Maybe then I would use it more.

*Hildegard of Bingen

Hildegard of Bingen also known as Blessed Hildegard and Saint Hildegard, was a German magistra who founded two women's communities in the 3rd quarter of the 12th century. Although today she has commonly acquired the title of abbess, it is important to note that she never held that title during her lifetime and remained under the jurisdiction of the abbot of her parent monastery.

Hildegard of Bingen was an artist, author, counselor, dramatist, linguist, naturalist, philosopher, physician, poet, political consultant, prophet, visionary, and a composer of music. She is the first composer for whom a biography exists and one of her works, the Ordo Virtutem is one of the first known liturgical dramas.

She wrote theological, naturalistic, botanical, medicinal, and dietary texts, also letters, liturgical songs, poems, and the first surviving morality play, while supervising brilliant miniature illuminations.

This was Wikipedia on Hildegard of Bingen... what do I think of her? She was a great Mystic - an absolute fantastic, creative and strong women - with her whole life devoted to God. She has always been an exemplary women for me (besides Teresa of Ávila). So this is my little tribute to honour her.

🇳🇿/🇬🇧/🇺🇸 I did not imagine that I would live an experience like this in 2025. I had known about this concert for a few months, and while doing some things, I kept thinking about it as I did others: Would it be good? Would I finally have the chance to experience something meaningful in person, while at the same time remembering my trip to Piauí?

To help you understand better, I traveled to Piauí, in northeastern Brazil, in 2025. I traveled with my family. My mother, my father, my sister, and I were all part of this vacation trip. We traveled by plane and experienced many great moments there, which allowed me to take some very interesting photographs, including during a boat tour. The soundtrack of that good moment was provided by Dominguinho, this remarkable trio that produces truly high-quality music.

I must admit that I usually prefer trap or electronic music, but that does not make me admire this trio any less. It is a musical genre that is not very common here in Rio Grande do Sul. People here usually prefer Bossa Nova, Rock, Electronic music, Funk, or Pagode. And watching award-winning artists perform live, in a well-known venue such as the Araújo Vianna Auditorium? It is indescribable.

This photograph was taken on the day of the concert in which the composers performed. At that exact moment, Jotapê gave a solo performance of his song for the audience. There was a strong sense of emotion and feeling in the air, and as I sang along, I captured this image (along with many others) that can be found on my VSCO profile.

not my usual subject matter but my honey came home with them for me today :)

In 2015 I bought three Phalaenopsis orchids... two large and one mini with blooms that lasted months! After they dropped I waited and waited for them to do something... and in January of 2018 they finally woke up and bloomed and now a year later, all three are gifting me with more blooms.... so exciting!! So don't give up on them if all you have are leaves, they will surprise you!!

Tech Details: If your curious how one takes a photograph of all of one's photo gear the answer is you borrow a friends camera from down the street (a Rebel XT/350D with a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L lens).

Lighting provided by one White Lighting X1600 to camera right difused through a large softbox, with Westcott 42" Silver reflector to camera right to just bring in some fill light. A short roll of White Savage Seamless just hanging off the knuckle arm of an Avenger C-Stand (easier and quicker than getting out a big background stand). Triggered by a good ole-fashioned sync cable connected to a Nikon AS-15 on the hot shoe since the RebelXT/350D lacks a PC Sync connector.

Salzburg, Austria

Salzburg (Austro-Bavarian: Såizburg; literally: "Salt City") is the fourth-largest city in Austria and the city of the federal state of Salzburg.

Salzburg's "Old Town" (Altstadt) has internationally renowned baroque architecture and one of the best-preserved city centres north of the Alps. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. The city is noted for its Alpine setting.

Salzburg was the birthplace of 18th-century composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In the mid-20th century, the city was the setting for parts of the American musical and film The Sound of Music, which features famous landmarks in Austria. The musical was a partnership between Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II.

The capital city of the State of Salzburg (Land Salzburg), the city has three universities. It has a large student population who add liveliness and energy to the area, and the universities provide culture to the community.

Musician and composer Sergey Sadov, playing more than 30 years on the Arbat a unique instrument with two necks «Sadore» which he created specifically for the most complete reflection coloring Russian music. Instrument sound very interesting and unusual: a cross between a harp, harp, guitar, sitar and a balalaika.

As a musician himself says: - I earn money on concerts and Arbat - for the soul ..

Tool created by Sergey Sadov - «Sadore» exists in a single copy.
