The Point is a waterfront location on Dubai Marina with panoramic views
Launched in 2006, The Point, Dubai Marina, is an innovative 27-storey development from award-winning architects N.E.B.
Located between the sands of Jumeirah Beach and the heart of Dubai Marina, this much sought after marina address is located opposite the grand Dubai Yacht Club amidst the most celebrated hotels and restaurants in the Emirate.
At approximately 10 metres from the marina’s edge, The Point offers a spacious pool deck running the length of its waterside location offering a number of climate-controlled pools as well as a shaded pool and deck area.
With the completion of the new Wyaralong Dam,there are small lakes forming at the bottom in the catchment area. This means the drive between Beaudesert and Boonah will be a much more pleasant drive with some of the lakes visible from the road...Above is just a tiny snippet right at the end of the catchment area showing a fraction of the views one can expect. Dam doesn't officially open until July 1st 2011.
Well I've managed to do a 52 week project. Somewhere though it seems that I might have put two images in for one week. I think next year I will have to make sure I shoot my 52 on a certain day so there shouldn't be any mistakes.
This picture has been screaming from within my head and with tea and toast it is done. Seville Oranges in Scottish Marmalade have answer the intrusive inspiration with this completion. Obviously another idea is now demanding immediate attention. These are my good times and the others are not at all goodly. Nature never lets us down if we can wait for the good times to come along and are then ready to enjoy them when they do come along.
There is what I am describing as a Templar Bread and Butter Pudding in the oven with a crunchy Croix Pattée in place and potential for either a Spiral of Sanctity [Power Crunch], or Labyrinth of Locating to be added upon the Final Firing. Please note my liberal idea of Templar peace keepers might not be your notions of them. Hopefully the next so far unanswered idea that is starting now to shout a little will be answered through the protection of Αιξ / Aix / Aex the Very New World Fruity and Old World Spicy Bread and Butter Pudding maybe a glory to behold.
The Pentland Hills are magnificent and here is a share of their beauty.
The Very New World Fruity and Old World Spicy Templar Bread and Butter Pudding shielded and nurtured via Αιξ / Aix / Aex is Glutten Free, Butter Free and free of other things and also free if you can get to Penicuik before I finish it. I have demolished a corner with Goat Yoghurt as a part of the rearing and trading that the Templar economy engendered. I could be thinking of Shaman in Mail and Plate instead of Colonising Thugs that some see.

Matthew 16:2-3, King James Version
2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.
3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

Chiltern Railways Class 168/2 DMU 168218 have just arrived with the 1D18 London Marylebone to Stratford-upon-Avon service and waits to form the 1H47 11:35 return working.
At the time of my visit, work on the new footbridge at Stratford-upon-Avon station was nearing completion. In response to the historic nature of the existing station buildings and footbridge, together with the arrangement of canopies and platforms, this latest development has provided a new separate lift, stairs and bridge construction to the north of the existing facilities. The new bridge has incorporated a number of heritage style features to best blend with the existing architecture. It is clad in red brick with buff brick detailing. The painted steel span matches the existing bridge, dagger-board canopies are provided over the lift exits and pyramid standing seam roofs top the lift shafts.

Gull Wing Bridge is a road bridge being built to span Lake Lothing in the town of Lowestoft, Suffolk, England, which is claimed to be (once completed) the largest rolling bascule bridge in the world lifted using hydraulic cylinders. The bridge is planned to be completed and open to traffic mid 2024.
The Tuscan sculptor Benedetto da Rovezzano went to England in 1524. Cardinal Thomas Wolsey commissioned a magnificent tomb for himself. But fell from royal favour before its completion. King Henry VIII ordered its completion for his own tomb. That also never happened.
What did happen between then and 2002 is a fascinating British history lesson. And Admiral Horatio Nelson ended up in the actual tomb! Commissioned by Cardinal Wolsey; then Henry VIII; then Elizabeth I; then sold off during the Civil War. One stolen pair showed up at Sotheby's in 1994, second pair found at Harrowden Hall where the first two had been stolen from.
Then it was over. In fact, it was truly done in a manner of completion far beyond what the crowd understood.
"After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had already been accomplished, to fulfill the Scripture, said, “I am thirsty.” A jar full of sour wine was standing there; so they put a sponge full of the sour wine upon a branch of hyssop and brought it up to His mouth. Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit." John 19:28-30
God continued to provide physical types so that we could understand the spiritual activity. That cup of most bitter drink that Jesus had prayed three times in the Garden of Gethsemane might pass from Him if possible, was the Father's wrath at the sins of those Jesus would save. Having now completed that, having now paid in full every sin of every person He would save, Jesus now demonstrated this by drinking of the bitter wine He had refused before.
And He yielded to the physical death. Had evil prevailed over Christ? Hardly.
"For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again. No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father.”" John 10:17-18
It has been well said that what death did to Jesus is nothing compared to what Jesus did to death.
"When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus. This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered it to be given to him. And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the entrance of the tomb and went away." Matthew 27:57-60
Continuing to fulfill prophecy in the most exact details, Christ's redemptive work marched on with the appropriation of His tomb.
The work was not yet complete. Justification had been achieved through His substitutionary atoning death on the cross but there was more to be done before His people would be secured for Himself forever, But the hard part was over.
Now, Jesus could rest from His labor of justification. He was active even now spiritually while His physical body lay silent. The religious leaders who had pushed for His death, who had aroused the mob against Him were still afraid.
"Now on the next day, the day after the preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered together with Pilate, and said, “Sir, we remember that when He was still alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I am to rise again.’ Therefore, give orders for the grave to be made secure until the third day, otherwise His disciples may come and steal Him away and say to the people, ‘He has risen from the dead,’ and the last deception will be worse than the first.” Pilate said to them, “You have a guard; go, make it as secure as you know how.” And they went and made the grave secure, and along with the guard they set a seal on the stone." Matthew 27:62-66
After all, had Jesus not already said,
"Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” The Jews then said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?” But He was speaking of the temple of His body. So when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken." John 2:19-21

Paprihaven celebrates the foreordained plan of God in His work of redemption for lost sinners culminating in the victorious resurrection of Christ Jesus from the dead.
"“Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know— this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power." Acts 2:22-24

I am reposting this, taken years ago.
The Towers were nearing completion when I started working in the City, not far from them. There was a cafe on the ground floor of one of the towers...I want to say it was the Hard Hat Cafe, but I'm not sure. My future husband would meet me there for lunch. I remember the goosebumps I'd get looking up at those buildings. The heights of them awed me, although I must admit to being a little angry that they took the tallest building title away from the great Empire State Building! I got over it.
Remembering the events of September 11 still breaks my heart and fills me with a deep sadness. But from that day on, those many years ago, I learned to count each day as a blessing.
With only 37 days remaining until the big grand opening on April 26th, contractors rush to complete Utah Transit Authority's Salt Lake Central commuter rail station at 3rd South and 6th West on March 20, 2008.
You knew where this was going.
I'm not gonna lie, this was originally conceived as a retirement post.
I mean, where do I go from here? I've completed the holy collection, and I feel like I've been out of ideas for a while honestly. Just been killing time till the last of these came in.
Honestly I haven't really been feeling the lego thing lately. Don't get me wrong, I love the hobby and the community and all you guys, but I dunno, the appeal isn't the same these days, and I've been kinda trying to figure out like, what's my plan for this collection in the long run. What am I gonna do with this stuff in five, ten years. Just being existential and crap. Plus I've just had a lot going on, so I haven't really found the time, and, in a way, I feel like I've pretty much accomplished everything I could have hoped to do. Well, outside of finishing up my JP figs, and making the perfect Popeye figs, who I do have plans for, but not the parts. I'd also love to do a Squad series someday like Moth Stories, but I haven't got the time or means right now.
This isn't retirement though, just musing. I'll still be around, fear not.
ANYWAYS, you're not hear for my existential crap, you're here to ask if that Gordon is a real Christo. Ha!
All of these figs, save for Man-Bat, Moth, Hatter, Ra's, Hush, Clayface, Batgirl and Gordon, are the 100% official, classic 2006-8 Bat figs. All of em. This is essentially my dream collection, and I'm stoked to finally have them all.
Hush is a LYL Brick custom, Clayface is one of those cheapass knockoffs, Moth is a purist custom, Ra's and Man-Bat are as well, save for the former's hair and latter's wings, Hatter has a painted CMF Balloon clown hat, an Onlinesailin head, and that Western torso with the card suits. Batgirl is old news, and yes, Commissioner Gordon is indeed a Christo, supplied to me by Saga Customs/Bravo Bricks, a gentleman and scholar. I had to wait a good many months, but it was damn well worth it.
Anyways, it's no Sharp Hand Joe, but this would have made a damn fine retirement post I think.
Cheers everybody, I'll see you round the flickersphere
I love these abandoned furniture/appliance finds. Mind you, I think that it's horrible that people dump their old crap like this. But in rural America, THIS is our "art in public places!" ;)
BTW, this shot completes another one:

This is the 3rd and last photo of the series that I took last summer at the Edro III shipwreck in Pegeia (or Peyia), Cyprus. In case you are interested, the two previous photos are Rusty Calmness and Monochrome
I was lucky enough to get a beautiful sunset with some interesting clouds in the sky. I was waiting for the sun to hide behind the clouds, but there were a lot of people at the site while I was taking the shot. Therefore I decided to lower both the highlights and shadows in post-processing, to create silhouettes of the ship and the remaining foreground features on the right.
A Squid Games tribute region is nearing completion. It includes all the features of the series. There are endless stairways and maze-like hallways sure to trigger claustrophobia. Pastel colors and childlike motifs hold secret threats.

Near the completion of her late October nail appointment, Ms. Essay was surprised by the nail stylist with a gift of a U.S. Misses Size 6 black jeweled party dress that had been worn by the stylist mother to a New Year’s Eve party many years ago. The dress was too small for the stylist to wear and knowing that Ms. Essay was a Size 6, the stylist gave the dress to Essay as a gift.
When returning home in late October, Ms. Essay put the dress on herself and found it fit perfectly. A photo was shared along with a promise to the stylist that Ms. Essay would wear this gifted dress to the next scheduled biweekly nail appointment in early November.
This pose in early November was captured in Ms. Essay’s townhome near the first-floor closet.

for my soulfriend, Evelyn, Saanich, BC... this just came to me this morning while I processed this remarkable rhododendron tree... who knows where I'll go with it! This tree was the first thing I saw when I looked out the back window from the suite that was ours in their house. It was near midnight; but a light was shining on the tree. One look and I knew it was so right to be there and that the rest of our time would be just as beautiful.

Harvest completion is a satisfing feeling, but only for a short while. There is next season planting to get the ground ready for, probably some equipment to be repaired and if you are raising livestock well, they get hungry just like kids. Harvest completion also means the holidays are approaching and that means time with family and friends.

With the completion of the Truxton Flyover, left handed running has been restored to the Seligman Sub as seen here just east of Williams Junction. With the heat waves rolling on the wind, BNSF 6615, complete with a retro number board, continues to fight the 1.4% grade up the west side of the AZ Divide. On Main 2 a double yellow is shown, followed by a red over green, for a quickly approaching Phoenix bound ballast train that will take a left onto the Peavine Sub.
