The Picture is from yesterday, it' s a beautiful sunset. I like it how the sunbeams shine through the leaves. It's a beautiful golden aura in the picture.
Jason De Caires Taylor named this sculpture Vicissitudes, commenting on the future trajectories of these children.
This sculpture was seen in the Molinere Beausejour Marine Protected Area, Grenada. This was the first of the underwater sculpture parks created by Taylor, who has more than 1,200 underwater sculptures in Australia, UK, Cyprus, France, Maldives, Indonesia, Mexico and Bahamas.
The sculpture park in Grenada was founded in 2006 and Vicissitudes was added in 2007. Initially, Vicissitudes was intended to be the community of children holding hands and looking toward their futures. But as the currents modified these sculptures, some had to be propped up, and these were tied together for stability. A Shih Tzu (English: /ˈʃiːtsuː/; Chinese: 西施犬; pinyin: xīshī quǎn), also known as the Chrysanthemum Dog, is a toy dog breed, weighing 10 - 19 pounds when fully grown. The exact origins of the breed are unknown, but it is thought to have originated in Tibet and then been developed in China although various hypotheses exist.The Shih Tzu is a sturdy little dog with a short muzzle and large dark eyes. They have a soft and long double coat. A Shih Tzu should stand no more than 28 cm (11 in.) at the withers and with an ideal weight of 4.5 to 8.6 kg (10 to 19 lbs). Drop ears are covered with long fur, and the heavily furred tail is carried curled over the back. The coat may be of any color, though white and with blazes of grey are frequently seen. The Shih Tzu is slightly longer than tall, and bigger dogs ideally should carry themselves "with distinctly arrogant carriage". A very noticeable feature is the underbite, which is required in the breed standard.[1] The traditional long silky coat, which reaches the floor, requires daily brushing to avoid tangles. Because of their long coat and fast-growing hair, regular grooming is necessary, which may be expensive and should be taken into account when considering adopting one of this breed. Often the coat is clipped short to simplify care. For conformation showing, the coat must be left in its natural state, though trimming for neatness around the feet and anus is allowed. The shorter cut is typically called a "puppy cut"[2] or a "teddy bear cut" when the puppy cut is accompanied by a fuller, rounder face, resembling a stuffed animal.[3]

Golden Gate Bridge from the Marin Headlands - Marin County, California
This morning I had planned on uploading something completely different, but when I saw the foggy conditions over the bay, I decided to head out to the same old spots along the Marin Headlands. As I have said before, I will never get sick of this view. It will never get old to me, and it will never be the same view twice. Sure... Some elements stay the same. The bridge will always be where it is. The places to stand and watch the fog roll in or out will stay the same, but the light, and fog will always change.
This morning the fog was a bit unusual. When I arrived up at the first turnout along the headlands, the fog was flowing east to west just underneath the center section of the bridge. The fog started to surround the north tower, which normally starts to clear as the air warms with the rising sun. Within minutes, the south tower started to become engulfed in the misty haze. The odd thing for me to see was the fog building inside the bay rather than rolling in from the Pacific. I know this has happened before, I have just never seen it in person.
So this is not exactly what I had planned for the day, but its a special view to me, and always will be.

This mask was mined and hand carved in Mexico. It is made from gold sheen obsidian AKA natural lava glass, or teotetl (translates to "divine stone").
The stone appears black at first, but when viewed at certain angles and light, a beautiful gold appears! Stories are told, that Cortez and the Spanish thought that this was gold. They thought this stone was cursed. Why? As night fell it turned black like the night itself, however the sun made it glow and sparkle like gold.
The mask represents life as a continuous cycle. One side skeletal and the other flesh.

Set mask on white plastic, with a white paper background. I started to light this with strobes to the sides. The lighting was harsh and didn't model well. I settled on a long exposure using the room lighting - 2 incandescent bulds on the ceiling. On a tripod, using my 17-55mm F2.8 lens, I made the image with a long exposure. A little tweaking in p-shop to get the golden color to come out more, and whiten the background a little more. That's basically all. If this inspires you to try something, post me a link!
