The 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment is one of four infantry regiments of the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army. Activated in 1942, the regiment participated in the campaigns of Sicily, Salerno, Normandy, the Netherlands and the Battle of the Bulge during World War II.
