This is a combination of two captures taken one after the other. The bottom half was captured at 30 seconds smoothing out the whipped up water from the intense wind at sunset with the passing front, and I liked the 30 seconds exposure, but also want to roughly freeze the motion of the clouds, as they were extremely pretty there in the sky to, but moving very fast. Having the 9 Stop ND on for the long exposure, I did not want to waste time taking the ND filter off, so just quickly changed the aperture to f/4 and then captured the scene at 4 seconds. Thus the top half of the exposure (the sky) is at 4 seconds.

Under the careful watch of a seasoned Hamilton yard crew, CP TH11 and its three GPs will cut off from 142 'on the fly' at Waterdown North, leaving the 9765 to assist the train the rest of the way to Guelph Junction and points east.
This German manufactured Claas "Europa" Combine dates from 1961 ....It was seen at the Steam & Vintage Fair at Driffield in East Yorkshire .
I have two main passions in my life, my photography and my love of the game of golf. It is very very seldom that I combine the two but here perhaps I had an opportunity. This was taken on my iPhone on a foggy morning on the golf course where I am a member. For once I really would have rather been out with my camera in a woodland somewhere than on the course with my clubs but I tried to make the best of it with this phone shot.

The daylily is an amazingly low-maintenance perennial. It’s virtually disease-free, pest-free, and drought-resistant; it’s also not picky about soil quality. Plus, the flower has a long bloom period! Here’s how to plant and care for daylilies in your garden, as well as how to easily propagate them for more plants!
About Daylilies
The daylily’s botanical name, Hemerocallis, comes from the Greek hemera (“day”) and kallos (“beauty”). The name is appropriate since each flower lasts only one day! However, each scape has 12 to 15 buds on it, and a mature plant can have 4 to 6 scapes, which is why the flower seems to bloom continuously.
Originally from Asia, these plants have adapted so well that many of us think of them as natives. Imagine the excitement of a 16th-century explorer cruising the Orient and finding these gorgeous plants! European gardeners welcomed daylilies into their gardens, and when early colonists sailed for the New World, daylilies made the crossing with them.
Despite their name, daylilies are not “true lilies” and grow from fleshy roots. True lilies grow from onion-like bulbs and are of the genus Lilium, as are Asiatic and Oriental lilies. In the case of daylilies, leaves grow from a crown, and the flowers form on leafless stems—called “scapes”—which rise above the foliage.
There are thousands of beautiful daylilies to choose from. Combine early, midseason, late blooming varieties, and repeat bloomers to have daylilies in flower from late spring through the first frost of fall. If you see a height listed alongside a daylily variety, this refers to the length of the scape. Some can reach 6 feet tall!

These Daylilies were photographed at Pashley Manor Gardens. The modern combined harvester, or simply combine, is a versatile machine designed to efficiently harvest a variety of grain crops. The name derives from its combining four separate harvesting operations—reaping, threshing, gathering, and winnowing—into a single process. Among the crops harvested with a combine are wheat, rice, oats, rye, barley, corn (maize), sorghum, soybeans, flax (linseed), sunflowers and rapeseed. The separated straw, left lying on the field, comprises the stems and any remaining leaves of the crop with limited nutrients left in it: the straw is then either chopped, spread on the field and ploughed back in or baled for bedding and limited-feed for livestock.

Yeah....20,000 iso. Grab shot...stopped on the road...grabbed the camera that had the 100-400 on it...and fired off three frames. I had it set on manual with auto iso for bird photography from a couple of days ago. Traffic was coming up behind me, so I had to hurry. I think it came out alright. Near Utica, Il.

"Street Scenes of Sai Ying Pun" is a community arts project led by the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation and local photographer and artist Tse Ming-chong.
In recent years, the historical district of Sai Ying Pun has undergone huge changes. To help document these changes and create an archive of memories for the community, over thirty young people worked with the artist to create photo collages combining over 450 pieces of monochrome photos. The artwork depicts the unique and vibrant character of the neighbourhood and records the traditional shops, the heritage buildings and the daily lives of the local residents.
During my first ever visit to Louisville, Kentucky, we made a quick stop by the most famous racetrack in America...Churchill Downs - Home of the Kentucky Derby. While taking in as much of the grounds as we could from the outside, this Chevrolet Corvette with a California license plate (I believe a 2014) pulled up and parked. I asked the driver if he minded if I took a couple of photos and ended up with this final result. The yellow color of the Corvette looks great with the gold lettering on the Churchill Downs building in the background and a little rain adds to the magic!
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D5200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

These are the words from Wreaths Across America's (WAA) website noted as "Our Mission". And, it is clearly observed in their commitment to the soldiers buried across the country in the many "national cemetery's" with the wreaths placed against the headstones. However, this is just one of the many ways that WAA remembers, honors, and teaches the next generation about our fallen. Box of Chocolates, Part 3. Wide Field Astrophotography is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’ll get. The same photo on different nights can look very different. That’s one of the things I love about night photography. Here are 2 panoramas of The Mittens in Monument Valley, Utah, from roughly the same spot on different nights. There is wonderful green and red airglow on the left in the bottom photo, absent in the upper photo. I am continuing on my panorama binge, but this gives me a chance for a “two’fer”, 2 panos for the price of one (and they fit better on IG to boot). Top pano done with a 24 mm lens vertically, second photo done with a 35 mm lens vertically, each approximately 12-13 images combined in Lightroom. This lies within the Navajo Tribal Park and you need a guide to go there at night. If you are interested contact Majestic Monument Valley Tours and ask for Quanah. Hope you enjoy! Wayne
The 2021 fire season included two large wildfires (both started by the same lightning storm in early September) that burned into a large number of giant sequoia groves.
In total 27 sequoia groves are fully or partially within the fire perimeters of the KNP Complex Fire and the Windy Fire.
16 groves burned in the KNP Complex Fire.
11 groves burned in the Windy Fire.
For both fires combined, 6,109 acres of giant sequoia groves were burned

Wat Saket, the Golden Mount temple, illuminated in festive lighting during a temple fair in November.

A few years ago I had been at this view point to shoot the sun setting behind the temple, but the decoration here was absolutely worth a re-visit. How do you think?

It's a fabulous view point, with many of the beautiful temple roofs peaking out from the dark; the Temple of the Emerald Buddha visible on the far left and even the top of the red Giant Swing is visible if you look closely. Warm wind on your nose, while shooting across the historic old town from a dark parking deck of a high rise hotel, just one of the awesome things to experience in this amazing city :)

From a process point of view i notice some banding in the sky, particularly on the mobile App; whereas it looks fine on my laptop and large display. Anyone notice the same difference?

*edit: after some trials on 12-Dec i added a Gaussian blur, then noise, and darkened the sky slightly with Color Balance and Contrast; all combined produces less banding on all device screens that i have on hand, hope it looks ok on your end.
