Cyndi Salwin was an old friend of mine for whom I had meet through another friend whose name was Sean Kendall for when I had lived at 27515 Shackett in the city of Warren and in the state of Michigan. I am just guessing here for that I had probably met Cyndi in what was some time around between what was between 1986 and 1990. I was about 16 and half years old for when my father had passed away in March of 1985. My memory often tends to brighten and to dim and wane with the passage of time. But still all of us as a collective of friends had more or less gotten along in good spirits for all intents and purposes. There were never any ugly disputes. We all had most if not all of the same musical likes and interests. Cyndi had dated at the time an old friend of mine in Warren Michigan for whose name was Sean Kendall and for whom I had grown up with in Warren Michigan way back in the early eighties. When I had moved to Cleveland Ohio in February of 2003. I had later learned from other sources for that Cyndi had died of ovarian cancer in August of 2002. And with all of the other people who are in my family and in my friendship circle and in the world who were dying or who had died already during all of this time, not to mention the events of September 11th of 2001. It left me feeling incredibly and profoundly and unspeakably depressed. I still think very well onto the memory of Cyndi Salwin to this day.

This is my long overdue pingback to the Cocteau Twins' 1990 LP, _Heaven or Las Vegas_.
Thank you for your interest in my work. Your kind words, praise and image faves are highly encouraging and deeply appreciated.

Theirs was a distinctive sound described at the time as "ethereal goth;" which begat a music subgenre now called "synthwave," "darkwave," "shoegazer," or "dream pop."
One would listen to their LP records (or CDs) from start to finish; single songs just weren't enough! They were a posterchild for 4AD, a British independent record label that packaged albums with visually distinctive identities that incorporated abstract images like my photograph above.

This was taken on the same night as the sunset image I posted yesterday. I almost missed it due to being completely transfixed on the setting sun in the west. By chance I turned around to get something out of the car and found this scene. What an incredible night.
Note: for some reason, I am having trouble with these videos playing correctly. They are choppy on my laptop. I was using Google Chrome, and when I switched to Internet Explorer the videos played okay. Maybe this is a known issue.
the mind is muddy today... post hangover from miss velvet cream's bday celebration. the cocteau twins always set me right and get the muddled thoughts clear again.

This year's update of my "Ethereal Pink" photo.
Unlike that photo, this subject was not as "fresh". So you see the browner pollen (the previous version had bright yellow pollen).
The good news is that it blooms every year. The bad news is that you may see more photos of this subject :).
I did not use the light table for this photo. The lighting is all-natural.
As Britain's Mini Ice Age continues, its a perfect time to add a third Cocteau Twins track to The Jukebox.
