My summer sailing trip photos often include Toronto CN Tower shots .. though nature makes each one a little different.
Whistler, BC
Finally a day with sunlight. No luck finding any wildlife but at least I was not hit by a train.
A CN oil train rumbles through Juniper Beach Provincial Park. The park is located on the north side of the Thompson River west of the town of Savona and protects the dry sagebrush and desert ecology of the area.
A late departing CN 559 negotiates the winding curvature of the Halton sub through Halwest following the block of 421 as they cross over to T3 to work some industries about a mile or so west of me in the Bramalea area.
CP 119 through Cherrywood with a odd choice of power! Pair of CN gevos leads the way from Mtl with a huge string of solid auto racks.
After tying down for the day, R960 power, with a former GTW unit still in Burdakin Blue stands by as A407 with a pair of former IC units, one of which still in deathstar passes by as they head north through Kankakee heading for Kirk Yard.
Approaching the mile 11 marker on the old C&O's Canadian Subdivision No. 2, CN 7071-514 trundles down the Sarnia Spur with a cut of cars for the mill at Blenheim.
With the escarpment impeding on the sun, CN 149 is about to take the curve at Milbase, seen here thundering past the switch to the glass lead.
Finishing this two part series we see the beautiful figure of an SD40U coming back through Eagle Mills light engine heading towards Partridge after dropping off Tilden Mine cars at the LS&I.
CN FPA-4 6775, F9B 6618 and GP9 4105 are in charge of Windsor - Toronto train #146, as they approach the Denfield Road bridge, between Komoka and London. Fresh snow has fallen and the fast moving train had whipped it up.
Sunrise at Tannery Park. Though downtown Toronto is over 50km away, I could still see the Toronto CN tower with sun rising from another side of the lake. I wanted to capture the icicles hanging on the pier, only this side the lighthouse and icicles could be seen because the waves hitting the pier all the time. But I had to miss the Toronto skyline on the opposite side… Two hours in the early morning was long enough to freeze the body, after photo session, walking along the pier to lighthouse was becoming a bit difficult, I needed a warm Coffee to survive 😉
Happy Valentine's Day my dear Flickr Friends! 💕
CN L551 has copied a pass stop at Milbase in order to return to their train after running around. They would roll back to Aldershot shortly after.
CN 395 grinds upgrade at Copetown with CN 5794 leading the charge and 172 cars. Of note, recently reactivated BCOL 4620 trails third.
Green meadows for the Green Machine...
CN L580 trundles along the Hagersville Sub at Onondaga, approaching Brantford with a green machine up front. Within the last month, BNSF has repaid horsepower hours to CN with a handful of four axle units, which were spread out between Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver. Ex-BN GP38-2 2098 is currently a staple on L580 and 581, and so far has not shifted assignments.
On the evening of November 5th, CN ran a second section of L546 up the Uxbridge Subdivision to retrieve two heritage rail cars from Lincolnville, ON for delivery to MacMillan Yard via the Uxbridge, Kingston, and York Subdivisions. Another late night rarity on the seldom-run line to Stouffville.
