Director of Teaching and Learning Services
Head of the College Library.
Kelly has over 10 years of experience teaching and working in higher education, both as a teacher and librarian. Her passion is engaging faculty and students with cultural heritage in libraries and archives to inspire new ideas and knowledge.
In college, Kelly began learning Russian on a whim, but after studying abroad in Moscow, she realized she was hooked on Russias fascinating language and culture. She earned a B.A. in Russian and English from Stetson University and continued on to graduate school at the University of Michigan, where she received an M.A. and Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and Literatures. Her research on early twentieth-century Russian and East European poetry and art has taken her to major museums, libraries, and archives in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Prague, and Krakow. She has taught Russian language, literature, and art at the University of Virginia, Dickinson College, and the University of Michigan.
Kellys work in libraries began with a Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) Postdoctoral Fellowship designed to give humanists an opportunity to gain hands-on experience managing the changing environment of twenty-first century libraries. After holding the fellowship, she was hired by the University of Virginia Library, where she worked for the last six years.
Growing up in a Navy family, Kelly moved frequently, but her family eventually settled in Neptune Beach, Florida, which she considers her hometown. Now living in LA with her partner, Margarita, and dog, Pivot, Kelly enjoys hiking, biking, and exploring her new home.
Multichannel IPA II
Open platform for convergence three in one: fixed, mobile and IP network
With up to 12 GSM channels the coM.sat Multichannel IPA II is a carrier class solution for backup/fallback and WLL requirements that enables convergence between the mobile, the fixed and the IP network.
In a 19” case with two units of height the coM.sat IPA II provides three flexible PCI slots, that can be assembled according to individual requirements with coM.sat PCI-GSM-, PCI-S0 and/or PCI-S2M-cards. In the basic version (connection through SIP) the device can be expanded with up to 12 GSM channels. GSM service attributes such as CLIP, CLIR, etc. are supported.
Besides the core IP-based communication the coM.sat Multichannel IPA II in addition offers the option of creating telephony interfaces for BRI and PRI access to enable the VoIP connection of conventional PBXes without complicated interference into the already implemented infrastructure.
This way, via a connection over the trunk line or an extension also an ISDN-PBX can make VoIP calls. This scenario reduces the quantity of GSM channels to a maximum of 8.
Remote maintenance via the internet, statistic and CDR reporting as well as alternating operation of the GSM channels for optimization of the capacity utilization are part of the basic feature package of the coM.sat IPA II.
