The Jinjiangli Diaolou Cluster, located in Kaiping, Guangdong, China, is a remarkable example of the fusion of Chinese and Western architectural styles. These multi-story fortified towers were built by returning overseas Chinese in the early 20th century, combining elements from their experiences abroad with traditional Chinese designs.
The most notable among them is the Ruishi Lou, which stands as the tallest diaolou in Kaiping, featuring a unique Byzantine style roof and a Roman dome. This cluster, along with other diaolou and villages in the area, was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, highlighting its cultural and historical significance.
