This is a "re-mix" of an image from 3 years ago. Hope that the new presentation can do more justice to the bird's effort.
Macroglossum is a species of Sphingidae. The three common species found in Hong Kong are M. pyrrhosticta, M. varigatum and M. heliophila. They have long proboscis and hover at the flowers when they feed, thus they are called Hummingbird Hawk Moth in the U.S. and Bee Moths in Europe. This one looks like those I have seen in Hong Kong.
They are very small and fast and unpredictable in flight path. I am very pleased to have captured a few nice ones on my first visit to Hwacheon in Korea.

This poor egret is foraging in a muddy spot with little success.
Excerpt from "A photographic guide to the birds of Hong Kong" :- Medium to small-sized egret. The most common and widespread egret in Hong Kong. White all over. Resembles Great Egret but is smaller. Bill and legs are black and toes are yellow. During breading season, two narrow elongated nape feathers appear behind the head and yellowish green facial skin flushes bright red. Voice is a harsh "ah-ah". Dark morph has greyish plumage but is very rare to see.

Captured this one at a friend's backyard this afternoon.
Looks like this is a female, and she is trying to wake up : her bright yellow eyes are still droopy. There are loud noises from heavy machineries due to renovation work, but does not seem to be annoyed.
Tawny frogmouths are not owls, and are colloquially (incorrectly) referred to as Mopoke, Morepork. They are closely related to Nigtjars and Oilbirds. Unlike owls, they are not raptorial.

Food Chain : Every second someone gets a life and the same second others loose a life. And the one fittest survives.
This picture depicts the harsh reality of life, we step over the other to continue to survive our existence on earth.
Every afternoon at 3:30pm there is a show of feeding the pelicans at The Entrance, NSW. About 50 strong pelicans gather at the feeding point every afternoon. Thanks to the volunteers and patrons who make this event successful and ongoing. The Entrance is about 100 km north east of Sydney.

In the evening light, lorikeets are feeding on blossoms of gum trees. Without any notice, they suddenly take off, rush right over my head.
Spring has been here for 2 months, yet there are quite a few areas of the park with dead trees. Red Wattlebirds like to perch on those dead branches and blend in very well. You don't know they are there unless they call their mates, or decide to go to other places, like this bird here.
This is a "re-mix" from an image taken in 2009, very heavily cropped.
