Familia: Vitáceas (Vitaceae).

Si tiene un soporte, la planta se sujeta con zarcillos; si no hay soporte, los tallos caerán en cascada y el aspecto se hace más compacto.

Hojas compuestas por tres foliolos dentados, verde oscuro brillante por su parte superior y más claro y satinado por debajo.

Altura: 2-3 m.

Floración en verano, sin interés ornamental.

Luz:

No puede permanecer al sol. Sólo soporta el sol directo durante algunas horas diarias.

Puede sobrevivir en sitios bastante umbríos.

Temperaturas:

Temperatura fresca en invierno para reposar.

Humedad ambiental:

Le favorecen las pulverizaciones regulares.

Si la temperatura es alta o hay calefacción, pulverícela a menudo y riéguela más frecuentemente.

Para conseguir una mayor humedad, colocar la maceta en un plato o cuenco con guijarros mojados.

Riego:

Regar 2 veces en semana en verano y cada 10 días en invierno.

Los riegos tienen que ser generosos pero dejando secar entre ellos.

Comprobar que los agujeros de drenaje de la maceta no están obstruidos.

Abonado:

Abonar cada 15-20 días en la temporada de crecimiento (primavera y verano) con fertilizante para plantas domésticas diluido.

Trasplante:

Crece mucho, así que se debe trasplantar a otra maceta mayor cada primavera.

Incluso, durante los 2 primeros años, el crecimiento es tan vigoroso que puede ser necesario trasplantar una vez en primavera y otra en otoño. Luego, una vez por año.

Cuando la maceta sea grande, más de 30 cm de diámetro, no es necesario cambiar a una mayor, sino sustituir 2 veces al año los 3 primeros centímetros de substrato por otro fresco.

Poda:

Puede rejuvenecerse la planta con una poda severa si fuera necesario; rebrota.
