I'm hoping to see this in the Costo box (which contains Harvest Cheddar, Salsa, Plain, and Sour Cream & Onion) someday.

Pretty boring Chocolate Chip Cookies. The recipe is pretty much verbatim from the Nestle chocolate chip package...the only difference is my dad's well tested substitution of shortening for butter. I actually called him to get him cookie recipe only for him to tell me that it's the generic Toll House recipe. Go figure.
The boyfriend made these pretty late last night when he was craving something chocolate and ice cream wouldn't do.
Oh, and these were taken with his camera. And tripod. I had fun playing with them.

Chip is a Dogue de Bordeaux.. not exactly a dog you would expect to see at the shelter. But.. that is where you would be mistaken. All types and all sizes enter our doors... all with the same need.. a forever home. So next time you are wishing to add a dog, even a purebred dog, to your family.. consider checking out your local shelter or rescue organization. You just may be surprised.
Adopt, don't shop!
Tortilla chips from Trader Joe's and Salsa from the Charette Creek Farm vendor at the Tower Grove Farmer's Market.
The renowned book designer gave a really entertaining lecture/presentation in Chattanooga- good stuff. I forgot my camera battery accidentally so I ripped these pics off AIGA Austin's flickr, thanks!
Chips and Vinegar
($8)
Notes: Thick-cut fries. Heavily salted. With malt vinegar (yay!). Not the greatest chips, however. They either went stale very quickly, or they were not thoroughly cooked through - some of the thicker wedges had that mealy, gritty texture on the inside. I liked the thinner, crispier pieces.

My brother, Chip, passed away 3 days ago on May 8. The next morning I started making an altar for him in my garden. Among many special deities & treasures from my time in Asia, there are many things here with much meaning from childhood; a tile from our swimming pool where we spent all of every summer, RCA Victor dog & much more. His favorite candy Reece's Pieces is here. I kept adding to it for hours, so it changes through the pix.
