For those of you who aren't familiar with the urban slang term "chilling out" one meaning is simply "relaxing"... so just "chill out" this weekend,you deserve it. Hey! If the statue can do it (and he's been chilling a long time) so can you.Shot taken at Merchant Plaza near Central Park.
We spent close to a week looking for a leopard and finally found this beautiful female named Akira on our last night in the Mara region last summer. She had made a couple of kills and was hard to spot high up in a tree. However, over the next hour or so she went up and down the tree a couple times after her prey fell to the ground. After a couple hours the skies opened up and there was an intense downpour for about an hour. This meant we had to cover our vehicle to keep dry(especially my gear). Of course, during that time Akira decided to come out on a beautiful perch with a clear view. As such, we had to remove the covering for just a few minutes to give me a chance to shoot before taking cover again. It was during this window that I was able to capture this image. Wildlife photography takes a lot of work and patience to capture what you see posted!
