Spent a day on the East Penn Railroad. One that has been on the list for a while now. Reporting marks ESPN, they operate some unconnected lines in the eastern portion of the Keystone State.

We followed a job on their Octoraro line. This former Pennsy line was to be part of a secondary route between Philadelphia and Baltimore. But these initial aspirations were not realized and the line was only completed as far as the Susquehanna River where it connected with Pennsy's Port Road line.

East Penn now operates what remains of the western portion between Chadds Ford and near Nottingham, a distance of just over 25-miles.

Oh how the train does not run and the rain does not stop.

East Penn GP38-2 2173 was arriving in Chadds Ford with its train from Oxford amongst some springtime foliage.

The GP38-2 was built for the Belt Railway of Chicago and is leased from GMTX..
