An Abstract made of three different images taken on my trip to the USA.

cut and color by rita guerreiro

From left to right: Haystack Rock, The omnipresent Moon, Venus, unknown star, and then the shy, but extremely large Jupiter. All hanging out at our planet's largest ocean. All this without a tripod and on ISO 100 because I'm a big dummy and forgot about my ISO settings at the end of a very long, but awesome day. This was Saturday's sunset, on the one and only Cannon Beach.

Outfit – top, sleeves, pants (photo 1): Noor in dream pack (with color changing hud) from Poet’s Heart by Nim Darkheart. Noor fits a wide range of bodies; I show it in Lara. Poet’s Heart will be located in the Avalon region, created by Worldbuilder and Fallen Gods creator Alia Baroque.

Fairelands Lore:

The beautiful Lunafae Blessing Stone featured in the photos was created by Fairelands Worldbuilder Sharni Azalee for her gorgeous region in the 2018 Fairelands. I do love this creation and have had it out on my parcel since 2018.

The lovely animated wings are also a Poet Heart creation…from the PH “Insecta” fatpack from the 2020 Fairelands. I show the wings only from that fatpack (which includes a dress, hat, leggings) in “Dragonfly.”

Long exposure at the Leith Docks, it was a beautiful evening. When I saw this capture I was thinking of this tune www.youtube.com/watch?v=-r58xH3YbBk hence the title

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fine Flickr friends.

Baking pies for our family's Thanksgiving dinner is a tradition I truly love. My family has come to expect the pies, so there's no getting out of it now! LOL As I was piling the homemade apple filling (enhanced with pears, dried cranberries and pecans) into the pastry crust, it made me feel thankful for so many things in my life. One of my greatest joys is sharing these pies with family and friends. . . please, help yourself.

Our Daily Challenge

After checking the weather for this area, it looked like I would have a small window of clear skies to try to capture the Milky Way. I've wanted to do this for quite some time and can now check it off my bucket list. I still want to photograph it again should it present itself. It is so amazing how the camera can pick up so much detail that the naked eye just can't see. You can see some clouds moving in, so I was lucky to get these images.

I'd like to thank Stephen Oachs for his tips on settings and also Deborah for the encouragement to accomplish this shot.

Their photos really inspired me! You can see this amazing photo taken by Stephen here.

You can see Deborah's (CircadianReflectionsPhototgraphy) image here.

It looks like the time is screwed up on my camera. These were taken about 11 pm last night.

Lego Spaceship MOC: The Celestial Empress is a large nuclear pulse propelled spaceship designed specifically to take a contained colony to Alpha Centauri. The Nuclear warhead propulsion system is based on the Project Orion concept and will take this half million Earth ton vessel to .99.99 of the speed of light. It take a little over a year to reach maxim velocity, it will then cruise for a further 4.5 years before flipping over and using the same propulsion to decelerate for another year before reaching its destination of Alpha Centauri.

There is a transit system from the bow module to the cargo modules

PHOTOSHOP COMPOSITION: The Celestials

This my early April submission.

I have decided to give myself a monthly challenge with photography and CS5. The lesson is very simple, I have listed twelve of my favorite songs and each month I will take one of the song titles and compose a picture around it. My criteria is that the picture must be an original picture I have taken and that I use my CS6 skills to enhance the picture to meet the theme of the song title. Some will be direct some obscure. Listed below are the songs I will be using in the next twelve months.

The Flesh Failures-Hair Original Cast Recording [February]*

The Uncontrollable Fire-U2 [January]*

Wild Horses-Rolling Stones [June]*

Wonderwall-Ryan Adams [July]*

L'Estasi Dell'Oro-Ennio Morricone [November]*

Sorcerer-Tangerine Dream [September]*

Taxi to Heaven-Pray for Rain [December]*

White Room-Cream [October]*

Redemption Song-Bob Marley [August]*

Cruel Summer-Bananarama [March]*

The Celestials-Smashing Pumpkins [April]*

Every Step of the Way-Santana [December]*

Just the shell. One doesn't come across these very often. Usually found in the littoral zone near seaside observatories.

It is an interesting experience to see clouds from the other side. This is when we realize how huge they are and can generate lightening.

Celestial Explosion

Tasco

18 - 02

The above lists the name of the iris, the hybridizer, and the year it was registered with the American Iris Society.

Bearded iris 'Celestial Explosion' at Presby Memorial Iris Gardens, Montclair, New Jersey.

This unique Plicata with a white background is a son of the renowned "Splashacata" which was awarded the Dykes medal. White falls completely peppered with dark purple dots. Bronze yellow beards. Lots of style and a pleasant fragrance.

Presby Memorial Iris Gardens, located at the base of the 7 1/2 acre Mountainside Park, contain over 10,000 irises of approximately 1,500 varieties and produce over 100,000 blooms over the course of the season. Because of the colorful iris along the beds, this garden is also often referred to as the 'Rainbow on the Hill' by visitors.

Maria Kiran is a young dancer who was born in Allahabad before coming to France at the age of three.

She started studying Bharata-Natyam which is one of the oldest dance forms of India when she was six years old and later she also practiced Western classical Ballet for a few years.

Ever since she had an amazing career performing in many festivals and on some of the most important stages of Europe and India.

Last night it was Diwali, as Maria was dancing in front of me I took a few pictures trying to capture that glimpse of the manifestation of the soul that she was carrying out throught her choregraphy of codified gestures.

Former apple tree framed under the Milky Way.

Light painted scene with a headlamp running around trying to paint the scene and attempting to create some cross lighting while the shutter stayed open for 30 seconds.

So while I was sweeping the light back and fourth during the exposure, I noticed a set or glowing orang-ish eyes in the shadows. When it emerged, it showed itself to be a bear! He just paused and looked back at me and then slowly sauntered off as if to say, "I have no beef with you human."

An updated shot of the dying apple tree in the lower field under the rising Milky Way. This time shot with updated equipment.

The rock formation was lit using an LED light panel.
