We had a great Saturday hiking in the Minden Area, North of the Wiehengebirge. The weather was simply perfect, after a comparatively cold May temperatures have gone up in the high twenties. Eickhorst, Ostwestfalen, Germany

My family celebrates our Viking heritage on Christmas eve with traditional Swedish food and drink.
I will be off and on Flickr for the next couple days while we celebrate my Mom's Birthday. 90 years young!
My co-workers knew how much I enjoyed photography and they signed me up for a photography course at our local art center as a Christmas gift. My husband had just given me my Canon T3i and I had just started posting on Flickr. We had weekly assignments and this was my picture for our portrait assignment.
Lots of family are coming into town to help celebrate this special lady in our lives.
Thank you friends for your lovely wishes to my Mom! She had a wonderful celebration and we all enjoyed lots of family time!

Today is the last day of the Chihuly exhibit at the New York Botanical Garden. Unfortunately for anyone who waited to see it, it's not going to be the best day for wandering the garden, but if you still haven't been, it's worth the visit.

A little late, I was meaning to post this in Jan. for the Chinese New Year, here it is, celebrating now. Happy weekend my friends =)

In the words of Thomas Frank, "Ding Dong the Jerk is Gone"! Well, not quite, but very soon. The orange menace has lost this election to a man of wisdom, compassion, and character, President-elect, Joe Biden. Words cannot express the joy and relief that I feel as I type these words! After days of anxiety, obsessively checking the news, and inability to focus on anything, the news came yesterday that the worst president in American history will, hopefully, soon be yesterday's news - Hallelujah!!!
Words can't adequately express my joy and relief, so I took an iPhone photo of a coneflower on my porch through a journey to Deep Dream Generator, then to Topaz Studio to add some brush strokes and a texture. An end to the last four years of daily nightmare is at hand!

Taken on main street Magic Kingdom, make sure to look back before leaving, your last glimpse of magic could be your best!
Word of advice, when visiting with your kids take only 1 lens and experience the magic with them. DO not get caught up in the photographic opportunities, the memories you make with them will outshine any picture.
Last evening the Paul R. Tregurtha (longest freighter on the Great Lakes) going down bound by our camp site. So we lit a couple sparklers to end our special day. HSS
