While not as dramatic design as the SCD-777ES, I consider the CDP-XA555ES (as well as the predecessor CDP-XA50ES) earns it's place in the history of the extraordinary Compact Disc players. As most other heavy Sony players the "555" is characterised by the poise and accuracy of the sound.
