As peviously spotted by GoldScotlnd71, this has clearly been here for a long time... Most probably since 2008. This is the first Espero I've seen in ages and also the first I've managed to get a picture of in over seven years of photographing old cars.

With its recent proposal for a fleet of New Routemasters, First seems to be upping the ante in Leeds. Whether a product of the group's well-oiled publicity machine, or part of a serious evaluation exercise, this tri-axle BusTech CDi could be considered in the same premium league as the New Routemaster. The prospect of fully-finished buses being imported from Australia must be extremely remote, but the possibility of a licensing arrangement with local builder Optare is not (26-Dec-14).

I had the opportunity to visit the wonderful CDI-NYC group in Manhattan. They have a fantastic space and are a fun group of girls. I highly recommend it!
Here's a bus that would probably turn a few heads in Glasgow. In terms of innovation, McGill's has not been backward in coming forward - but this Australian BusTech CDi requires a huge slice of imagination. Having expressed (but not pursued) an interest in Maltese bus operations, perhaps McGill's turned its attention to the Australian market and, on the back of this, set itself up as a UK agent for BusTech products? I have a few further UK liveries to follow but won't be overworking this image, which was sourced via Wikimedia Commons as below (26-Dec-14).

If the innovative BusTech CDi was to find its way to these shores, it would be no surprise to find operator-dealer Ensignbus involved in some capacity. This example in the operating company's livery is seen on private hire work. I have omitted the usual black lining, which doesn't sit comfortably on this body style - perhaps a fresh arrangement of the blue and silver colours is called for? These 12.5 metre Australian-build buses are normally fitted with 110 seats in dual-door form (26-Dec-14).
