You might not know at first glance that this SW1500 is being operated by the Cleveland Commercial Railroad. It had LTEX markings and Union Pacific colors. It was built, though, for the Southern Pacific. (Scanned from a slide)
This is the card I made for Deborah (Nolan)'s challenge for May. I sent it to Jana in Croatia. I've been too busy to post lately, so here it is now. (Thanks Deborah - love your challenge!)
I did the same distressed background shown by Jennifer McGuire. I embossed the image with white embossing powder, then created the background with Distress inks blended with Perfect Pearls in water. All the stamps are by Hero Arts, the Cardstock is AC cardstock, the ribbon is by Stampin'Up. The butterfly is also coloured with Distress inks.

Wiley Green and CW Stephens, sometime between April 1937-March 1939, near Trinity, Texas
CW Stephens was my maternal grandfather, and was in his early 20s in this photo.
I scanned this snapshot photo at best resolution, and did no color correction. I adjusted contrast and tonal elements and added a little sharpening. I then resized to about 12x8 using Perfect Resize.
The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was a public work relief program that operated from 1933 to 1942 in the United States for unemployed, unmarried men from relief families, ages 18–25 as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal. The CCC was designed to provide jobs for young men, to relieve families who had difficulty finding jobs during the Great Depression in the United States while at the same time implementing a general natural resource conservation program in every state and territory. Maximum enrollment at any one time was 300,000; in nine years 3 million young men participated in the CCC, which provided them with shelter, clothing, and food, together with a small wage of $30 a month ($25 of which had to be sent home to their families). During the time of the CCC, volunteers planted nearly 3 billion trees to help reforest America, constructed more than 800 parks nationwide and upgraded most state parks, updated forest fire fighting methods, and built a network of service buildings and public roadways in remote areas.

This is my second entry for CCC XVI, it´s for the cart salesman category.
It´s spring! The flowers are in full bloom and everything comes back to life. The best season of the year! The local salesman are back on the road, ready to supply the farms. It´s needed, the winter has been though, so food has been consumed by this family. Those salesman are here to save the day!.
I´m not good at making a story, nor is my english 100%, I am sorry for that.
