This is for the Fix My Pic Please group.
From an original by Versus86 titled, silence.
...and part of the monthly before and after discussion for the Fix My Pic Please group,
Photo fixes February 2009:
www.flickr.com/groups/FixMyPicPlease/discuss/721576132807...
I thought this was an awesome photo. I am a big fan of farm landscapes, and I really like the textures and shape of older equipment. I selected the plough using the pentool and copied it to a new layer. Added some red to it and boosted the contrast a bunch. I added a bit of contrast to the grass as well. I used a sunset photo to add some color to the sky. I like to shoot a bunch of sunris and sunset photos, as well as clouds. I often use them to add to other photos. I also added some contrast to the fence.
Thanks Versus86 for letting me work on your photo.
Here is another version I did as well

This is a movie poster I did for a 2006 poster competition of the Sundance Film Festival. The title of the movie is "before dawn". It is about a refugee camp in Hungary. The contest was just for fun in another forum. The person who started the discussion there was going to film school. I did a couple for the contest she did. You could choose any film you wanted that was at the Festival. This one seem quite interesting to me, although I never had the opportunity to see the film. I would like to though, it sounds really good.

That's Producer Bobby Martin on the right in this photo, Kenny Gamble is in the middle, and Don Renaldo is to the left in this photo. Kenny Gamble and Producer Bobby Martin are both well known around the whole world as legendary music producers. They are the best in the world at what they do, they produce and compose real good music. Bobby Martin and Kenny Gamble have their arms around one another in this photo that was taken in the early 1970's. Producer Bobby Martin and Kenny Gamble were good friends long before the Philadelphia International Records label existed. Most historians say that Bobby Martin is a co-founder of the Philadelphia International Records record label, only Bobby Martin never claimed that title. However the facts prove that Bobby Martin was not only there assisting the head founders from the very beginning, Bobby Martin was creating and developing The Sound Of Philadelphia all by himself before anyone else was. After they launched the Philadelphia International Records record label in 1971, not only did Bobby Martin groom all of the Philadelphia musicians and groups, Composer/Arranger/Producer Bobby Martin was the head architect that took on some of the greatest responsibilities for the (PIR) record label. Kenny Gamble And Leon Huff were great songwriters and producers who not only owned the record label, they were great musicians as well. You can almost hear those hit songs from Philadelphia when you look at this classic picture of Producer Arranger Bobby Martin and Producer/Songwriter Kenny Gamble. Philadelphia International Records is a record label founded by writer-producers, Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff in 1971. It was famous for showcasing the sub-genre of Philadelphia soul music and released a string of worldwide hits during the decade. This is correct, however we can't forget to mention Arranger Producer Bobby Martin who was producing Philadelphia soul and R&B music in the 60's and had been composing hit songs since the 1950's under the name Robert Martin. Arranger Producer Bobby Martin was there at the start of (PIR) Philadelphia International Records as well. Kenny Gamble, Bobby Martin, Leon Huff, and Tom bell were all R&B and Soul hit makers who had major roles in developing The Sound of Philadelphia. Bobby Martin had something to do with almost every Classic Soul and R&B hit song! Not only was Bobby Martin an arranger for the record label he was a great producer, songwriter, conductor, band leader, executive, vibist (plays the vibraphone), pianist. It's not every day that you come across a great producer or arranger that is also recording artist that's willing to record in the studio and play live in concert. It takes talent and greatness, as well as hard work to build a successful record label. (more facts) Philadelphia International Records was set up in connection with the music publishing company. Main artists signed to the label included The O'Jays, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes (including lead singer Teddy Pendergrass, who later signed a solo deal), Lou Rawls, The Three Degrees, and Billy Paul. The label's major hits included: "TSOP (The Sound Of Philadelphia)" by MFSB, featuring The Three Degrees, 1974 (which was later adopted as the theme of the TV dance-music show "Soul Train"); "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now" by McFadden & Whitehead (writers and producers with the label), 1979; "Backstabbers" and "Love Train" by The O'Jays, 1972/3; "If You Don't Know Me By Now" and "The Love I Lost" by Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, 1972/3; "Me And Mrs. Jones" by Billy Paul, 1972; "When Will I See You Again" by The Three Degrees, 1974; and "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine" by Lou Rawls, 1976 "just to name few". The label had a distribution deal with CBS Records until 1984. Distribution of the catalog from 1976 onwards was then taken over by EMI, but CBS/Sony Music Entertainment continued to distribute material recorded up to 1976. In 2007, Sony's Legacy Recordings regained the rights to Philadelphia International's full catalog and the following year, PIR/Legacy released a box set titled Love Train: The Sound of Philadelphia.[1] Most of the music released by the label was recorded and produced at Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia, with chief engineer later studio owner, Joe Tarsia recording many of the sessions. More than 30 resident studio musicians, known together as MFSB "Mother Father Sister Brother", were based at this studio and backed up most of these recordings. Bobby Martin also acted as an arranger, writer and producer for Philadelphia International as well as for other labels. Bobby Martin was the MFSB bandleader and conductor. Norman Harris, Ronnie Baker, Earl Young, Bobby Eli and Vince Montana were a few of the main band members. The MFSB band/orchestra played on all of the sessions and recordings. PIR worked as independent producers with a series of artists in the late 1960s and early 1970s, including Jerry Butler, Wilson Pickett and Dusty Springfield. They also produced The Jacksons' first two albums for Columbia/CBS after the group had left Motown in 1976. The first titled The Jacksons featured the platinum-selling single "Enjoy Yourself" and a second album, Goin' Places followed in 1977. Although on CBS subsidiary, Epic, both albums and the singles also carried a Philadelphia International logo. Gamble and Huff started Gamble Records and in 1972, was folded into Philadelphia International as a subsidiary. In 1974, the subsidiary's name was changed to TSOP Records. The name comes from the 1974 hit single, "TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia)", by MFSB and The Three Degrees. Artists for Excel/Gamble/TSOP included The Intruders, Dee Dee Sharp, and Archie Bell & the Drells.. etc., etc., etc.

from a stunning original by anoldent, titled, LAAF 100.
I used the lasso tool and pen tool to select the model. Isolated the background and duped it. I added a ton of contrast and seperation, applied this as "soft light" mode to boost the really cool colors. I brightened the model's jewelry, added an earring, and completely reconstructed her face. The photographer had hoped to bring back the detail in the model more. I tried to math her features as best I could, judging from the original. I do have a version with out the lens flare, if you would like it I will post it too.
In my first comment is more of a description of the face work, and some links to GrannyO2too, that I did awhile ago. And a link to download a layered .psd file. It's the GrannyO2too tutorial, for you too :)
Thank you so much anoldent, for letting me work on your amazing photo, I really enjoyed it.
