Mrs. Richel, descriptive cataloger, at her desk. Image caption on page 46 of the book US National Library of Medicine: "Library staff cataloging with hand-typed catalog cards and printed indexes that aided the compiling of bibliographic information, ca. late 1940s. Some materials would be singled out for photoduplication for improved access. This would mean microfilming, if an entire volume was to be duplicated, or photostats (a predecessor to modern photocopies) if only a few pages needed to be copied."

This small-format book shows hundreds of wood types by William H. Page. It is their last known end-cut specimen catalog. The Hamilton Manufacturing Co completed their acquisition of Page’s wood type concern on January 4, 1891.

This catalog was among the remainders of the 1890 Page catalog brought to Wisconsin. The old Page (soft) cover was removed, and a new Hamilton (hard) cover was rebound to the catalog, all of the interior stayed the same, and thus the price sheet that pre-dates the finalization of the acquisition.

There is the sweetest card on page 4 of the new Hero Arts catalog - I keep returning to it. It was the inspiration for the design of this card, which uses CG158 (Hugs and Kisses) and sentiments from CG161 and CG155. Also, lots of Distress Inks, some gel and glitter pens, Stickles, and rhinestones.
