I used black embossing paste and a dreamweaver stencil to create the birds (such fun!). Used a circle mask for the sun and brushed distress inks to create the background (Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Squeezed Lemonade). A Hero Arts sentiment to finish.

I will add it in to this week's SSS Anything Goes Challenge along with the other 1000+ cards :)

Also added to CAS-ual Fridays challenge to use embossing because using embossing paste is my new favourite thing!

Lucy's inviting all of us to create a rainbow themed card for "Rainbow Week" on her blog this week. I wanted to play along, so I inked up the smallest flower from the Dotted Flowers cling set, white embossed them and colored them with Tombow markers in a rainbow of colors.

Because it's Lucy, I wanted to use kraft card stock and some Thickers.

I'm also entering this into the CAS-ual Fridays challenge which is to use embossing.

This card is for Jayne’s Quick Card Challenge. I used my new stamp and die set that I won on the Hero Arts blog a few weeks ago…It made stamping and die cutting so much quicker, so thank heaven I had it!

For the challenge, we did a “Triple Play” in honor of the upcoming All Star Baseball Games. I used a frame, tilted it, and my metallic elements are silver embossing powder and sequins. I was pleased my order of stencils arrived in time. This stencil is from My Favorite Things and I followed Jennifer's tutorial. I didn't however, use the Shimmer spritz. I used Shabby Shutters for my first sponging and then Peeled Paint for the second layer. I used a tiny little flower from an older Hero Arts sentiment set with Seedless Perserves. Really happy with the colour combo. The sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays

Hello!

Today I don’t have a card to share… I have a tag! I wasn’t happy with the project I submitted to V.V.C. #4 because it doesn’t follow all the rules, so I made this tag using my new Altenew stamps :D and many scraps that I save all the time. You can see the fun theme for the current challenge here - virginiasviewchallenge.blogspot.ca/2014/06/virginias-view....

I cut out my tag from white cardstock and blended the background with Distress and Memento inks. Then I spritzed some water in HA star background (love that background!!!) and stamped over the tag, ending up with a subtle pattern. Then I adhered my scraps (all stamped or colored left overs from different projects, no pattern papers) onto a small piece of cardstock and stamped the Boston skyline. We can’t see well the effect… something I wasn’t expecting, my thin stripes almost disappeared under the stamped image :(. Then I decided to stamp again in regular printer paper blending some light gray ink to make the buildings look like they are distant, and deconstructed the city in a way that it wouldn’t be an exact repetition. I adhered these to the background and mounted the striped skyline in foam adhesive. Added two stripes of cardstock, stamped the sentiment on vellum, and heat embossed. To finish off, since I’m joining CFC132, I added two pieces of ribbon and cross stitched to make something a little bit different. If you want to play along, here is the link - cas-ualfridays.blogspot.pt/2014/05/cfc132.html.

I’m also joining the challenge at ABNH for the first time with the theme “It’s not in the cards” - ablognamedhero.blogspot.pt/2014/06/challenge-45-its-not-i....

See you very soon. Stay well.

Supplies:

Stamps: HA/BG - Star Background; Altenew - Sketchy Cities America.

Dies: SSS - Life Bubble Round.

Coloring: Distress Inks - peacock feathers, broken china; Memento - danube blue; HA Shadow Inks - soft granite; VersaFine - onyx black; clear EP.

Others: White and black cardstock; vellum; ribbon.

Hello. Here I am with a cute card (I think…) to enter several challenges.

I started by stamping the star border on the top of my white card base. Then I stamped a white smaller panel with many elements from the PS stamp set in a very light gray. The baby and bird were colored with copics, and the sky, balloons and pink brush stroke (yes, that’s what I meant that to be :)) are water colored. Then I prepared some thin linen with gel medium (I’m loving the use of fabric in cards…), and die cut some clouds that I sewed on my machine and adhered to the card afterwards. I used a stencil with embossing paste on the top right, a few wood veneer stars and some stickles.

Challenges I’m joining:

CFC131: Three Thirds - cas-ualfridays.blogspot.pt/2014/04/cfc131.html - I used 3 colored balloons, 3 stars and 3 clouds… plus 1/3 :). Ends May 23.

CMBC #17: With a sweet, sweet inspiration and a very special guest this month - littlemisst-papercraft.blogspot.com/2014/05/cure-for-mond.... Ends May 18.

PS Sparks with a Picture Perfect challenge this week - papersmoochessparks.blogspot.pt/2014/05/may-11-17-picture.... Ends May 17.

VVC #3: Stitching - virginiasviewchallenge.blogspot.ca/2014/05/virginias-view.... Ends May 18.

Now you know that you’ll have to run if you wish to enter some of these great challenges. Stay well.

Supplies:

Stamps: SSS - Holiday Borders, Only Have Eyes For You; PS - Pip Squeaks; CBS - Paired Up.

Dies: Memory Box - Puffy Clouds.

Coloring: Encore - silver; VersaColor - cement; VersaFine - smoky gray; Copic markers; Watercolor set; Caran D’Ache watercolor pencils; Royal Talens Ecoline - white.

Others: Neenah Solar white cardstock; Watercolor paper; SSS - Rainbow Stencil; Ranger Stickles - Stardust; SC stars wood veneer; Claudine Hellmuth multi-medium matte; Uni-Ball Signo white gel pen.

I only recently got some Washi tape and some of it was dotty, perfect for the CAS-ual Friday Sweet Spot challenge. I stuck the tape to some scrap white card and used the Hero Arts sketch to trim it into banners. I used the sentiment label from Hero Arts/Basic Grey stamp set, finished with a dotty flower.
