Monday night was unexpectedly clear so I tried out a new UHC filter and in this shot I used that UHC data at 300mm to combine with with 600mm RGB data from January with the UHC data as luminance. Astro Pixel Processor was used to combine the data, I like the effect. Different from using Ha as a luminance layer! Since it was lower resolution and there was thin cloud in the UHC data it wasn't ideal!

Unhappy with the colour in my previous image, this is the same 15.6 hours of data but with a bit more colour. Probably way too far...
My newly rescued cat - I named her Carina which means cutie in Italian.
She was abandoned outside the shelter, and they figure she is 4 years old. She spent about 8 months in the shelter
So far already a companion ...

The Carina Nebula after correction for star colour in Astro Pixel Processor. It is basically mostly a very red nebula when properly corrected, this shot has RGB, Ha, and OIII from a UHC filter in it, but ends up pretty red!! At least there is lots of detail, even if there isn't lots of colour!
This is a few hours of Ha, 6nm Astronomic filter narrowband, RASA8, QHY268M, APP stacking and intial processing, finished off in Photoshop.
Playing around with using Astro Pixel Processor to combine the Ha and RGB data. Great detail using the Ha as a luminance layer in this target! Happier with this edit now! Nikon D810A, 600mm f/4, 10 minute subs at ISO800, Astronomik 12nm for the Ha subs. Tracked with a Celestron CGEM II EQ mount, PHD2 guiding with a little ZWO guide camera, APT software in overall control. The Ha data was from metro Adelaide (Bortle 6!) and the RGB from Bortle 1/2 in Hawker, SA.
I can't immediately remember if I've seen this one before at one of the Toyota club's shows, but great for it to be here amongst the newer Japanese cars.
Edit: Looks like I saw it at Billing back in 2012.

Another RE Edit of some old data from July 2021 . Carina nebula or Eta Carinae Nebula . Shot with Canon 5Dsr on a Skywatcher Quattro 250P Telescope. 15 x 55 second exposures stacked with Calibration frames . There is so much to see in this area of the sky , I will probably do some crops of this image to zoom in on all the different areas .

The Carina Nebula and Running Chicken Nebula from my Adelaide metro (Bortle 6) backyard. This is a combination of 13 stacked shots with a Optolong L-Pro filter and 1 shot with an Astronomik 12nm Ha filter as a luminance layer. Lots of issues, no lens collar meant I was getting trailing from differential flexure despite autoguiding. The light pollution meant even with the filter the blue channel was maxing out way too early. Horrible gradients over the frame (this is a crop). After huge amounts of adjustment the star colours are somewhat red. I will try the L-Pro again with a longer focal length (see if that stops the gradients) and will see if it helps when used without light pollution. Otherwise I am doing something very wrong here!
