Micro (macro) photographs of lit candles, showcasing the amazing art that's produced when a candle's wick burns and the candle's wax melts into incredible shapes.
It took me awhile to be able to expose properly for both the burning wick and the flame itself, and it's challenging to get a sharp focus as I shoot these handheld.

OMG ~ 50 candels on my birthday cake yesterday. That's a whole lot, and no place on the cake anymore.
Shot with my Fuji X-E2, processed in Aperture using VSCO Film Pack 02.
This is one of the photos that I took for the macro monday group, but didn't use it. I still wanted to share it though, so I added it to flickr. I really enjoy doing Macro Photography.
Fire has been around since man has been on the earth, It has warmed our skin and provided light for our footsteps. The flame is an efficient servant but when it moves outside of our control it becomes a ruthless task master!
reason to love winter: candle light is necessary!

may be small, but the memories it represents burn brightly within our hearts.. Hope you are all well. Been a rough time of late can't promise I'm back but I'll do my best to post a few. The Advent Candle always gets lit in our home, but this year means a little more than usual as it would have been Mum's Birthday. Keep on smiling you wonderful folk out there. x
