Looking to immigrate to Quebec and looking for an LMIA from an employer? You may be eligible to get one with the revised list this year.

Based on Canada’s 2016 NOC system, the list of Occupations was established by the Emploi-Québec in collaboration with the Ministry of Immigration.

This List of Occupations is a list that provides job advertisements for occupations that the employers do not require to advertise to hire a foreign worker separately. This list is annually updated.

This year the list of occupations was published by the government of Quebec on 24th February 2020. Statistics say, with one hundred sixteen new professions, and 9 of the previous years of them removed, there is a long list of new entries. The new rules include Dentists, baker, Human Resource management, and some more.

In comparison to last year, there is an introduction of a provincial list of labor needs in all of the Quebec regions. On the other hand, last year, there was an introduction to regional lists. Anyone who was eligible in these professions had a simpler processing and a faster immigration route.

What should you expect from the LMIA list for Quebec?

Canadian employers who will hire temporary foreign workers before applying for a Labour Market Impact Assessment have to establish that they have already done the required advertising. And they will also have to provide proof of the required efforts done by them.

These efforts may consist of interviewing the eligible candidates and advertising for a minimum of 28 days. They will also have to prove to the government that no permanent or Canadian resident is willing to do the work. And this issue requires hiring a foreign worker.

There is also a simplified application process. Known as the “facilitated” LMIA, you do not need to show proof of recruitment here. Quebec employers who hire candidates for certain positions don’t need to advertise either.

The nine occupations excluded this year include 0513, 1242, 1254, 3217, 3236, 7205, 7232, 9211 and 9224. These include occupations like supervisors, service directors, massage therapists, contractors, statistical officers, and public relations officers.

As a Immigration Consultant i Know what is the exact step and how to SETTLE IN CANADA !

New Brunswick has invited international students and even newcomers to come and explore career opportunities in the bilingual city of Moncton. Moncton in New Brunswick has taken the initiative to host a job fair that would help immigrants find their true calling. The job fair was organized with the aim of allowing local employers to have access to international talent. The fair was held on the 24th of January. It was attended by international students, prospective immigrants, and newcomers who wanted to explore their employment options in IT, insurance, finance, customer service, health, manufacturing, and hospitality. Angelique Reddy-Kalala, who is the Immigration Strategy Officer with the City of Moncton, reported that last year 117 positions were filled, and the numbers should be rising further this year. According to Reddy-Kalala, the fair provided 500-1000 open positions to people looking for jobs. Moreover, the number of employers who wanted to tap into the international talent market reached its capacity during the fair.

Most of the attendees were already living in Canada with the help of a work or study permit. Reddy-Kalala estimated that only five percent would travel abroad and attend the fair in search of job opportunities. While there are people looking for jobs, it is also important to note that the country has the capacity to provide jobs as well. When combined with the prospect of an affordable housing market and high quality of life, the offer seems too good to turn down. Moncton also recently came up with an immigration strategy that would double the number of immigrants in the next four years.

The job fair was attended by representatives from the Province of New Brunswick, and they provided essential information on immigration. Since Moncton is a bilingual city, a large portion of the employers would want candidates fluent in both English and French.

Candidates who had already submitted their Expression of Interest to the province of Saskatchewan were given invitations allowing them to apply for a provincial nomination. This would give them an upper hand if they wanted to secure permanent residence. A recent draw held on 9th January saw Saskatchewan distributing invitations to 308 immigration candidates so that they could apply for a provincial nomination. It was the first draw of the year that was organized by the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), and it was largely productive. The invitations were given to candidates from the Express Entry pool and the Occupations In-Demand stream.

It was no mandatory for candidates to produce a job offer if they wanted to be invited for a provincial nomination during this draw. However, it was compulsory for them to complete an Expression of Interest (EOI) under the SINP. They were also required to have at least one year of work experience in any skilled occupation that was deemed eligible by the province and was related to their field of knowledge. After the submission of the EOI profiles, the SINP takes certain factors like age, education, language proficiency, skilled work experience, and connections to Saskatchewan into consideration when evaluating them. The candidates are then given a score out of 100 on the basis of SINP’s International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid. This score is then used to award rank to the candidate in the EOI pool. The candidates with the top ranks are then issued invitations that allow them to apply through the regular draws. Candidates from both streams were required to have a minimum score of 69 in order to secure an invitation to the SINP selection round.

The SINP distributed the 142 invitations among candidates who had existing profiles under the federal Express Entry pool.

"Canadian Government issued 3,900 invitations to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence (ITAs) in its draw held on 19, December, 2018.

Minimum cut-off score in this draw is 439, the CRS score is dropped by 6 points compared to previous draw held on December 12.

IRCC-Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada usually issues Express Entry draws for every two weeks, but this time the draw issued in one week setting a record in issuing draw after a week.

IRCC issued a total of 89,800 ITAs in this year with lowest CRS score of 439.

The tie-break rule used by IRCC in this December 19 draw, the time stamp used was 6 February, 2018 at 19:31:37 UTC. Which means, in this Invitation round all candidates with a CRS score 439 and above who entered their profile in the Express Entry Pool before February 6, 2018, at 19:31:37 UTC, received an ITA.

Ontario organized an immigration draw on 15th January and mainly targeted candidates who have work experience in six different tech occupations. The Tech Draw was conducted by Ontario and led to the distribution of 954 invitations among Express Entry candidates who have eligible work experience. The candidates, after receiving the invitation, will be able to submit their applications for a provincial nomination if they are looking to get Canadian permanent residence.

The candidates who got a Notification of Interest (NOI) during the 15th January draw had CRS scores between 460 and 472. The Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) takes certain factors into consideration and awards candidates with points on the basis of which they are ranked.

Ontario usually issues NOIs to candidates belonging to the Express Entry system for the purpose of inviting them to submit their applications for provincial nomination. Once candidates secure a provincial nomination, their CRS scores increase by 600 points, and they are given priority when it comes to receiving an invitation that would allow them to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The candidates who were picked in the draw had to show that they had work experience in any one of these six occupations:

Software engineers and designers

Computer engineers

Computer and information systems managers

Computer programmers and interactive media developers

Web designers and developers

Database analysts and data administrators

The OINP or the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program introduced Tech Draws back in the summer of 2019 in order to meet the increasing labor needs of Ontario’s tech sector. Ontario houses many of Canada’s major tech hubs. Candidates interested in the Tech Draw must have an eligible profile under the Federal Skilled Worker Class or the Canadian Experience Class.

Moving to Canada has always been looked at with the utmost glee by immigration aspirants, what with its low crime rate, ethnic diversity and extremely polite population. Add to this the flexible immigration policies and burgeoning employment opportunities and the end result is an enviable immigration destination for people around the world to flock to in multitudes.

Canada has an assortment of highly lively and picturesque cities to opt for when thinking about settling here. A sweeping majority tends to lean towards two major cities in particular - Toronto and Vancouver. It is admittedly hard to pinpoint one of these cities as better than the other. Nevertheless, we will make an honest attempt to do so, although it doesn’t take a prophet to guess that we will be met with an impasse along the way.

Canada all set to welcome new lot of Indians from 2021 to 2023. A well set plan to settle down in foreign land with family and avail the benefits of ease of life. For more information you can contact with our immigration experts at 8595338595 or web@abhinav.com

The word migrant is related to the root of both immigrant and emigrant, and it, too comes from Latin. The Latin word migrate means to move from place to place.

Immigrant candidates who have high proficiency in English, French or both are more likely to have a successful integration into the labor force and society of Canada. The immigration system in Canada has set language proficiency standards, which only goes to show that they are willing to give an advantage to candidates who can prove their fluency in the two languages.

This can prove to be a useful weapon on the journey of obtaining permanent residence in Canada. One look at the Express Entry system will prove the validity of this fact.

The Express Entry system came into existence in 2015 and is responsible for managing the pool of candidates who belong to Canada’s primary skilled worker immigration programs. With the introduction of the Express Entry, the bar was raised when it came to determining the eligibility of immigration candidates. It became important to judge their likelihood of attaining success in the country’s economy. All the Express Entry candidates are assigned a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score is an indication of their potential. The score is calculated on the basis of factors such as age, work experience, education, and language skills. The CRS system can award up to 290 points to an unmarried candidate who is highly proficient in both English and French as long if they can perform all four language skills - reading, speaking, listening, and writing.

2019 saw Express Entry candidates needing a CRS of approximately 460 points so as to have a competitive shot at receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence. Language proficiency can, hence, contribute up to 63 percent of the total points needed to qualify for Canadian permanent residence. It can be said that language proficiency is one of the best gateways to Canadian citizenship alongside provincial nomination and a job offer under the Express Entry system.

There are no two places as far apart in comparison as the Great White North and the Arabian Peninsula. On the one hand, we have the immigration treasure trove that is Canada and on the other, we have the Gulf’s holiday hotspots like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. But what they have in common is the dense flow of Asian immigrants into these two regions for work and business opportunities, the holidaying potential of these destinations notwithstanding.

But the differences in immigration laws between the two regions make all the difference when it comes to choosing one of them to settle in. While Canada accepts people from around the world and offers PR to them at the blink of an eye, the Gulf countries do not have such provisions in place.

Global Skills Strategy enables the sponsoring employers to get the application processing work done within two weeks. Moreover, the job aspirants who get hired under earn valuable work experience in Canada which gives them an edge when they apply for the permanent residency under the Express Entry Route (which is a point-based selection system for Canadian immigration). Canada has set a target to welcome 3,10,000 new permanent residents in 2018 and 3,30,000 in 2019.

The new decade will see millions of immigrants arriving in Canada through a variety of immigration programs that are now available. It is expected that there will be several policy updates in the upcoming years, making it easy for immigrants to establish a home in Canada.

Marco Mendicino, Canada’s new Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, should be able to table the 2019 Annual Report to the Parliament on the subject of Immigration by March. Usually, the report is released by 1st November every year but the federal election delayed the process in 2019. This report will be significant because will give valuable insights into the immigration priorities of the federal government. Canada’s 2020-2022 Immigration Levels Plan has already garnered a lot of attention all over the world, and the report might make it clearer. The federal government is targeting 341,000 newcomers for 2020 and 350,000 newcomers for 2021. Minister Mendicino’s Mandate Letter stated that there could be a rise in the 2022 target of up to 360,000 immigrants.

The federal government is also set to announce the updates to the intake process plans for Canada's Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) by the month of April. At the moment, the federal government has a yearly target of inviting 21,000 immigrants under the PGP, but the intake process has posed many challenges over the years. The demand always exceeds the number of spots available, and the federal government should come out with a new intake process.

According to the 2019-2021 Immigration Levels Plan, Canada is all set to provide a home to 67,800 immigrants under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) during the next year. This will mark an increase of 11 percent as compared to 2019. Provinces and territories will want to gain more immigrants via the PNP, and also help them settle outside the big cities.

Calgary is known as a place where there is a perfect balance; there is an abundance of work opportunities as well as a fairly carefree way of life. So naturally, it is beginning to attract an influx of new immigrants looking for the perfect place to settle in. The tie-break rule in February 20 draw was 6th December 2018 at 12:38:11 UTC. It means the candidates who scored 457 or above under CRS and submitted their profile before the specified time and date will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in this draw.

The last few years have seen Canada rising in the global community. With countries like the United States of America and Great Britain struggling to establish immigration policies favorable to everyone, Canada has managed to lay the foundation for a strong and dependable immigration system. So, it comes as no surprise that people all around the globe have fallen in love with the Canadian brand and given it the recognition of being one of the best in the world. 2019 saw Canada ranking third out of 50 countries in the study of the Anholt-Ipsos Nation Brands Index.

Last year, it gained fifth place overall, and the improvement shows. The two countries that were able to get higher scores than Canada are France and Germany. The latter occupied the top spot and scored significantly higher than Canada. All the rankings were assigned based on 20,035 online interviews. The interviews were conducted with adults over the age of 18, and the candidates were chosen from over 20 countries.

Canada received in the first rank in three of the six individual categories. All 50 countries were given ranks for the individual groups, along with the overall rank. Canada topped in the categories of people, governance, and most importantly, immigration and investment.

Canada emerged as the only nation placed in the top five that had managed to bring about significant improvements in its standing under the categories of governance, culture, and tourism.

Canada has been ranked at the top for immigration and investment second time in a row, which only goes to show that the country’s power of attracting international people is increasing with each day. The score for the immigration and investment category is determined by “composite attributes” such as work and live, educational qualifications, quality of life, invest in the business, and existing equality.

The province of Ontario has issued 242 invitations to Express Entry candidates under the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream to begin 2020. They were the first Express Entry-linked invitations that Ontario issued in the new year, and they were distributed among 242 eligible candidates who are looking to apply for a provincial nomination that would take them a step forward in their quest for Canadian permanent residence. The invitations were issued under the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream, which happens to be one of the three Ontario immigration pathways that are associated with the Express Entry system.

The Express Entry system serves as Canada’s primary source for skilled foreign workers. It has been designed to control the pool of eligible candidates belonging to the country’s federal high-skilled immigration programs. These include the Federal Skilled Trades Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Class, and the Canadian Experience Class. The candidates who are registered in the Express Entry pool are assigned ranks on the basis of the score they secure under the Comprehensive Ranking System. The CRS calculates the score on the basis of social factors like age, skilled work experience, education, and language proficiency.

Ontario’s French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream gives permission to the province’s immigrant nominee program, or the OINP, to browse the Express Entry pool in search of candidates who satisfy the stream’s eligibility requirements. One of the requirements is that the candidates have to be able to understand, write, read, and speak French well enough to clear the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or even higher.

According to the OINP, the 242 Express Entry candidates who were given a Notification of Interest (NOI) during the 9th January draw had secured Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores between 433 and 472. The candidates must register in the Express Entry pool to find out if they are eligible for the stream.

The Canadian immigration system has undergone a fair amount of ages in the last decade. The federal government has shown a preference for launching pilots as compared to introducing permanent programs since 2012.

A reform was introduced to the country’s Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) in 2012, which gave the immigration minister the legal authority to come up with new economic class pilot programs and launch them. These programs would aim to welcome immigrants and also address the priority areas in the country’s economic and labor force at the same time. Since then, most of the new federal economic class programs have been introduced as pilots. Many such pilots took off in 2019, and we have two more pilots to look forward to in 2020.

Before the emergence of the pilot program approach, it was necessary for the federal government to table new economic class programs directly to the Parliament. Then, these programs would be subjected to thorough reviews, debates, and votes before they could be made accessible to prospective immigrants. While this process was fair and democratic, it also slowed down the process of immigration significantly. This delay would often create problems for employers to find workers in times of skilled labor shortages leaving many empty jobs. Hence, the 2012 reform actually proved to be beneficial. The federal government could launch pilot projects because of the reform and avoid parliamentary delay because the pilots work like trial runs. A pilot can remain in existence for up to five years and welcome up to 2,750 principal applicants each year.

Introducing pilots is a great way of avoiding the hefty costs of introducing programs that could prove to be unsuccessful in the long run. The federal government is free to test out pilots and then make an informed decision about their future.
