Paseo de Recoletos . Madrid
The Café del Espejo has a terrace and an Art-Nouveau-style glass pavilion located on the Paseo de Recoletos boulevard that recalls the atmosphere of turn-of-the-century cafes. It is a classic and historical meeting point for artists, intellectuals and businessmen.
A bracing Skipton plays host to Northern's new CAF unit 331012, out on test with the 11.08am Skipton Broughton Road CS - Shipley - and return (5Z72). In the meantime, named storm Ciara is making her presence felt with a mixture of wind, rain, sleet, and some very nippy temperatures - I was certainly glad of the full thermals and thick socks that day.
The passengers, including me, have just alighted at bay platform 1 on a service from Leeds. It's hard not to enjoy the splendid Midland Railway architecture just here, happily of Listed status, and one of the main reasons for the visit. If you zoom in you can make out the tall and elegant finials on top of the glass canopies - splendid details!

The wee cafe in the east Princes Street Gardens at night. Not very well framed as it was an improvised night shot heading home from my book group, sitting the camera on a railing round the Gardens to steady it for a quick night shot (which worked but doesn't give you much leeway for framing the image!)
