This house was a major fixer (I had thought it was beyond any hope). All the other cars on the property are fixers. And this, I assume, is the reliable workhorse.
With double rear wheels, no less. In China Town. This very car also appeared in the eminently forgettable movie "Cymbeline" (2014, called "Anarchy" in the UK). Didn't look as if it was in a shoot on this occasion; it's probably somebody's work truck which once earned them an extra few dollars.

A second example of the Motormax Chevrolet C3500 Dually Crewcab based casting which started life as a Zylmex and which was found recently in a charity shop. Many of these ex Zylmex models had very long production lives at Motormax though I'm not sure this one survived much into the 2000's.
A first for my collection so you can imagine my delight when Mikaela sent two of these castings to me recently.
I never bought many Zylmex products as a child even though they were liberally available as I deemed them inferior to Corgi and Matchbox and in many ways they were!
Lots of their castings passed to a fledgling Motormax who used them mainly to fill inexpensive multi-sets such as this rather boxy but elongated Chevrolet c3500 Dually Crewcab.

The fourth generation of the Chevrolet C/K pickups were built between 1988 and 2002, The pickup was also sold under the GMC brand as Sierra.
This is a casting which I haven't seen too often over the years hence the small numbers in my collection. Its title suggests it looks heavily customised but thankfully the level it has been altered from factory spec is extremely tame compared to other Hot Wheels models. A recent charity shop gift so unfortunately I have no idea when this recolour actually dates from.

Standing on the "porch" of his retrofitted U-Haul panel truck, Chris Harne, 25, is planning on heading south to Key West on Friday, Nov. 30, leaving the comfort of his parent's home in Kennett Square. He plans on living in the 8 x 10 foot living area. He has retrofitted a former U-Haul truck into an 8x10-foot living space furnished with castoffs he acquired through his job at 1-800-GOT-JUNK. The plan, says Harne, is to make the van his permanent home (he'll mooch showers off of friends), complete with battery-operated heater and cooking appliances, an iPod, laptop, and waste containment system. Code named GMT400, 1988-1998 Chevy C/K & GMC Sierra pickups (1988-2000 for 2500 HD & 3500 models - 2002 for 3500 HD's) are the best looking fullsize GM pickups of the last 30 years from a design perspective. It's amazing how much smaller, lower and spartan fullsize pickups were back in the 90's compared to the fancy & expensive models produced today. This 1994 tow truck didn't even have an airbag (driver side airbags debuted in 1995 on the C/K & Sierra). The minimalist grille & one piece optional chrome bumper of this 3500 base model are minuscule compared to the tall front ends of current trucks.
