RS-97 crosses the bridge over Oatka Creek in Leroy, NY on July 20, 1985. C&O 4081 leads the train, and it did not seem like C&O painted units made it up the BR&P 4th Sub that often. In exactly 1 year, on July 20, 1986, the last RS-97 ran, with the Borg taking over the line the next day.

It looks like a C&NW yard job is pulling a grain train out of the elevator near Summit. I think the elevator was at one time served by the CGW so please correct me if I a wrong. One other possibility is this train may have been loaded at the Cargill elevator near NFM on the FEVR tracks in midtown.

This weeks SNS is C&O U25B 2525 leading a geep near Wayne Junction MI. There is some motion blur so it appears the early U-boat was cooking right along in this David Sweetland shot from July 1968. Chuck Schwesinger collection.
