C------ grew up on a farm on the edge of Dartmoor, and farming is what she has always known. Having no siblings, she liked to be with her parents whatever they were doing, whether feeding cows on the moor, or filling bottles for orphan lambs. Her mother did all the work indoors, gardened, and helped outdoors with the cows, but took care that C------ had friends and birthday parties like other children. C------ also had chickens, cats and dogs as pets, a favourite cow and, as she grew up, her own horses. At Young Farmers Club she met P-----, and married him when she was 25; they were perfectly suited. Everyone was pleased. Now C------ helps on the farm morning and evening, and P----- at weekends.
