For this image I wanted to focus on the fact that there is hope for the future. I took a photo of my model looking into the distance with binoculars and photoshopped a photo of a wildfire into the background. I then photoshopped a photo of a clean beach and a photo of a healthy forest into the binocular lenses to show that those environments are possible in the future. I edited the image to make my model look darker and the edge of her look lighter to make her look like she actually is in the fire.

Performed on April 15, 2007 at Crowell Concert Hall, Wesleyan University in Middletown CT with members of:

The Klezmer Conservatory Band: Hankus Netsky (director, piano), Susan Watts (vocals), Ilene Stahl (clarinet), Mark Berney (cornet), Mark Hamilton (trombone), Ted Casher (tenor & alto saxes, clarinet, flute), Jim Guttman (bass), Grant Smith (drums) plus vocalist C. Calloway Brooks (grandson of Swing icon Cab Calloway). Two numbers were performed with Wesleyan's jazz band, directed by vibist Jay Hoggard.
