Scene number three using the $4 table I painted yellow. Blogged about here: theshoppingsherpa.blogspot.com.au/2013/07/buzz-bar-yellow...
This little halictid bee is using sonication or "buzz pollination" to get pollen grains from a pale meadow beauty blossom. She grabs an anther and uses her flight muscles to rapidly vibrate the flower, dislodging the pollen grains. The process is very energetic and some of the errant pollen grains appear in the photo above as short meteoric trails in the bright sunlight. Meadow beauties are one of several types of flowers (including blueberries) that can only be pollinated via buzz pollination. Getting a sharply focused image of a buzz pollinating bee can be a challenge. Bumblebees also use buzz pollination.

Another long ago garage sale that netted two Buzz Lightyears with blinky LED tendrils. It took some time to dis-enbowel him and make room for the firecracker.
I've played with destroying Buzz a few times and this is the best I have had one work out.
Cheers.
Buzz
One of the original cut-ups Buzz always maintains his edge (ouch)! Assembled from parts off of both column A and column B - vintage test box, screen door handle, old truck emblem, movie reels valve knobs, glass fuses, aluminum junction box, and, oh yes, saw blade. With Buzz there are no dull moments.
Buzz Lightyear, the young alpaca, stands in some exposed tree roots. I thought his legs and the roots would look good together.
Now i'm finishing the "catching up" process :)
This was taken with the 50mm f1.8 OM lens holding it backwards in front of the camera...
