1977-1978 PLDT-GTDC Yellow Pages Metro Manila Buyers Guide (June 1977 - May 1978)

In 1977, the white and yellow pages directory are separated into three books: the white pages as a single-volume and the yellow pages has two volumes.

Three volumes in the 1977-1978 edition:

A - White Pages Alphabetical Listings

B - Yellow Pages Buyers Guide (Products and services for Home and Business)

C - Yellow Pages Commercial and Industrial (Manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors and business services)

The new design template was designed to hook into their PIMS (Product Information Management System) and dynamically extract image and copy data. All space usage was built to be flexible to accommodate different copy lengths and product sizes.

From my personal collection. This is the first issue of Video Games & computer Entertainment Magazine. Not easy to find anymore. Cool Blaster Master cover too. This issue is in Very-Fine minus to Very fine (7.5 to 8.0) condition.

When launched, the Ford Capri was revolutionary. It was a car that set the European market alight, allowing even a buyer on a modest budget an intoxicating whiff of the exotic whilst keeping running costs at affordable levels. That status eroded over time, and the Capri sat in the classic car doldrums for many years, its true worth unrecognised. That situation has thankfully changed, and Capri values are rising rapidly, so care has to be taken to make sure you end up with the best one possible for your money. This guide takes the potential purchaser through a short initial examination to weed out the obviously defective followed by a more comprehensive step by step look at the body and mechanical parts, where the clear, jargon-free text accompanied by over 100 photographs sheds light on even the darkest corners of the Capri’s construction. A unique points marking system ensures that nothing is overlooked, and an accurate final picture of the car’s condition can be viewed in relation to the asking price.

From my personal collection. This issue is in strict Near Mint (9.4) condition. Technically the first issue of EGM since it came out prior to EGM #1, but since it is a buyers guide I guess it doesn't count as the first one. Either way a great magazine and what a ride it started! The buyer's guides were always fun to read.

EGM #15 (1991 Buyer's Guide) from my personal collection. This issue is in a very nice Near-Mint/Near-Mint plus (9.4 to 9.6) condition. I looked forward to the buyers guides each year. I always enjoyed the system ratings that were given out.

I decided with my boyfriend to buy a vintage engagement ring, of course because I love antique jewelry, but also because I didn't want to buy either dirty gold, or conflict diamonds.

Of course, I would have loved to inherit a heirloom ring from a great-grandmother, but I had not this chance.

Having collected all pros and cons from my own experience and experience of other users, I have created this diagram to help advise on buying the most appropriate Canon gear. 3 options included, without top and low end. Valid for 2012-08-08 :-)

I’ve been late coming to digital TV. Partly through intending to move house for the last four years an not wanting to put a large but delicate appliance through the moving process and partly because of not wanting to commit a few thousand dollars to a technology that is in flux (it’s like decimal currency — I’ve been waiting to see if it catches on!).

Photo taken on March 31, 2025 - TBG founder and publisher Alan L. Light holds the a copy of the first issue of TBG (from 1971), while cartoonist/illustrator Russ Maheras holds issue #481 (from 1983), which was the last issue Alan published before selling the magazine to Krause Publications. The publican would end in 2013 with issue #1,699. TBG was comic book fandom's widest-read collector's publication. Russ Maheras drew around 20 TBG covers during Alan's time, though neither of these specific covers displayed here. The cover of issue #1 was drawn by comics fandom legend John G. Fantucchio, and the cover of issue #481 was drawn by professional Terry Beatty.
